Thank you, Rosie and Susan. Yeah, I was wondering about the one-size-fits-all of the brand recommended to me, but, Susan, I'll have to check to see whether I can find that brand closer to home. Sounds good.

Opie, now that I can't tell you, not knowing how bad it is. Probably okay, but no speedwork until it settles down.

Opie, like this:

Psst, Econo. Here's something you and FKALE might find funny.

First, I forgot to say hi to Soundrunner. Hi Soundie!

Yeah, what's a comb?

tomwhite, I kinda know what you mean about the footstrike. When I change to a more forward footstrike, my foot pain tends to go away. Unfortunately, I also run too fast and my cardio-vascular system conks out. Not good!

I really did not want to swim tonight, so I didn't. I discovered the TrekMill today at the club. A treadmill that goes to a 50% incline! So I borrowed a page from the Hippo playbook and did a walk at a steep incline. 60 minutes, and I covered 3.5 miles horizontally, and about 0.5 miles vertically. My speed varied from 3 to 4 mph, and my incline varied between 10 and 25%. It was a great workout, and it didn't seem to bother my foot too much. I liked it much more than either the stationary bike or swimming.

8.6km in 50 minutes in crisp 36F. I like running in the cold when 'tain't raining nor howling with wind.

Thanks for the picture and advice, SS. I just did a couple sets of those. Yes, I know not to do speedwork. I'm even backing off a little on easy pace using Daniels' adjustments.

Like you, Labduck, I really didn't want to hit the pool so I didn't. I didn't like the way my shins felt during the water running yesterday, the more I thought about it. So guess what I did-rowing! 5k in 28 minutes. Then 3 miles easy on the stationary bike while little Opie fiddled with my earbuds and tried to talk me into a smoothie. I feel good.

comb? just glad to have hair....having it be uncooperative is of little concern

nice run tripleJ....hope the foot doesn't whine a bit on those little ol harlan hills

good outing Ken

lab....I'm doing my best as a fan to make sure the Vols get the chance to knock off LSU and help your Ducks.

riley....what general part of NY are you in?

Easy run this evening in the dark....weather gets crazy this time of year....ran in snow flurries a few days ago....today it was 72 degrees for the second day in a row....supposed to see more snow in the mountains by Thursday night or Friday......right after all the Turkey Day rain ....rain....heat.....cold....snow..........whateve r the weather....it's....just the way we like it

Ilene, what exactly is wrong with your hip?

90 min Yoga and 30 min Pilates today.
EZ yoga night -- did lots of leg work instead of upper body. Why do I feel disappointed when the instructor goes EZ as the extra stretching is always a good thing. I wore my watch so I could time planks. hehe

3 Piejones Honeymoon straight arm forward planks x 1 min = 3.75 pts
1 elbow plank x 1 min = 1 pt
1 left side straight arm x 1 min = 1.25 pt
1 right side straight arm x 1 min = 1.25 pt
1 Choovie reverse plank x 1 min = ?

7.25 total?

7.5 miles tonight. Made it to the group workout again. 4-mile warm-up around the lake, 3-mile tempo with some of group on a loop course around the track (grass, path, track); 7:28/avg. Just half-mile cool down. The sleep-deprived bod kicked in for the workout after all. The brain was asking for a few strides to finish, but then the body finally rebelled.

Clear and cold night. There's something -- hmm, powerful? can't think of what it is --being at the track with runners post-workouts, talking the talk and our breathing hanging in the night air. Beginning to shiver in our sweat, but no one wanting to leave first.

Johnny, you'll always be a rocker in my mind.
Opie, heal quickly!
Hi Lab!
