Kevin- Have a nice run, its cold and gloomy here as well

My legs still hurt.... stupid race with its stupid hills. I have to take one of my dogs to the vet this morning before I can get to a run. Gonna try for a 5 mile shake-out. The 3 miler obviously didn't work yesterday.

BBS- Hopefully the legs will feel better soon.

The 5 mile run I did today was great. 5 miles in 42:04. The first mile was 8:52 and the rest just seemed to go easy after that. I hope that is a good sign that my easy runs are really getting easier.

10 miles over lunch for me. ~40F, sunny but windy so it was chilly for 50% of the run. I managed to hold it under 8mpm pace.

It was my first outside run in the Saucony ProGrid Mirage, which I got as an alternate to my the Asics DS Trainers. They supposedly have a lower heel-toe drop, which is all the rage these days. The result; the shoe rides fine but the Saucony upper makes it a bit sloppy. The shoe works my calves like the Mizuno Elixirs I had in 2009. I still prefer the fit and feel of the DS Trainer but it's good to switch it up now and again.

BBS - my legs were more sore after the hilly HM than after my last marathon... IMHO the shake out run is unlikely to help. You need a massage.

kfuller - it's great when easy pace becomes easier and/or faster. I'm just now feeling that my legs are coming back after a torrid time during January and February.

I WENT FOR A RUN!!! I saw the MT this morning. She stopped short of using a sledge hammer. She determined that it's a stupid tight quad causing the knee pain, NOT the IT band. Very good news! She told me to go ahead and run on it. So this afternoon, I did! Opted for a short neighborhood trot. Right 'round 3m. Legs weren't feeling that great, but late in the run I realized they were just "not fresh", and not painful. Shocked to find I managed an 8:44pace. There's still an ever so slight chance of still running Earth Day...

BBS--you make hamburger out of your legs and wonder why your legs still hurt?!

fuller--nice 5.

Asics--doesn't it LOOK like it should be warmer?!
