Nice early run, LL.

I exhausted myself with my run last night. 12.75 fairly quick miles. I'm a little sore this morning. The plan for today is to go to the gym for some easy lifting and even easier run on the TM.

The good news is that with 119.7 miles so far in March, I am well on my way to 200 for the month. Heck, I can almost take it a little easy for a while. I'm tired enough right now that I might just need to do that...

morning

5 easy later today...

Nettie - FWIW, I used to do ALL my interval workouts on the TM. Easy, don't have to think about the pace, you just run it, etc. I've never run on a track, was freaked out by having to count laps, watch my splits, blahblahblah... Until last week. I was having some occasional problems running speed on the TM, so I tried the track thing. (Sort of. Made my own track around my development.) Running intervals on the TM is easy, especially if you can set the TM for 2 different run/jog speeds. Most of the time, I was ok, but it did seem to aggravate my shins...

Tom - maybe getting pissy should be your new strategy before any race you do. 17 miles in under 2 hours? Insane. and the other part of your post cracked me up

Maria - GO Streakers!!! and Moe, I'm jealous. I want a massage.

Good Morning!

I'm supposed to do a few intervals today, nothing much 5x600 but that doesn't mean I won't blow up. It is very windy out, so I guess I'll try the TM--makes me feel like I'm cheating though. I also think with a 1% incline, the 'mill is just a bit faster than "real life"; at least that how it feels at a really fast pace. My knee feels pretty good, but I'm a bit worried about pushing the 5k pace today--I'll test it out before speeding up too much. These may need to wait a couple of days.

So, tomorrow I'm running 14 with a FAST lady, PR's: 10 mile - 56:32, Half marathon - 1:15:36, Marathon - 2:43:13. This could be the end of me, people! I'm very excited, she is a wealth of information with a ton of experience...she also thinks I might not be pushing hard enough during my workouts (no big surprise here)...

Morning all! Got to the pool for a workout this morning. This evening will be a few fast miles as a warm-up to weights and then my last regular schedule volleyball game of the season.

Nettie - prior to last summer, I had done all of my intervals on the TM. It was OK but wow, once I got to a track, it makes a big difference! Plus there are all sorts of supa speedy runners there to push the pace.

Jen - have fun on the run tomorrow, sounds like she's already a great resource for your running, undoubtedly you'll get even more from her on a run.

Roo - does stretching the lower ab area help? Like maybe some extended bridges?

Girl, I know how you feel!

(Dammit - did I say that out loud?!)

Jen - Who is this woman you're running with tomorrow? Is she running in the OT in Boston? If I didn't see a marathon PR to her credit, I would say that you're probably running with PTom in drag! (Let's just say I've heard stories about him)

Raining cows and dogs here today (that's what a Nepali co-worker once said and I kinda like that since I prefer cows over cats). I've got a track workout on tap for lunch today - short intervals is all I have time for.

Later, taters!

Yeah I wore a floatation belt and was pumping my arms. I felt like I was flailing during the "hard" part of the interval. I dunno. felt odd

no running yesterday but I sweated a lot...I think I broke my fever overnight.

It took me 2-3 classes before I felt like I was getting the most out of that workout. Keep them legs moving and try taking the belt off for the last couple minutes of your workout for an extra kick.

Good deal about the fever, feel better soon!

half hour yesterday, and a half hour planned for today. y'all are gonna get bored with my running reports. i have turned my self into a science experiment again and fully intend to see how well this bit works, running for time instead of distance. i mean, distance happens if you put in the time, right? it's inevitable.

last night i nearly fell off the treadmill again. i get all riled up and usually forget where i am, end up almost going up over teh front of it. last night was different. last night, DS was cooking dinner (what a great kid) and i had to yell over alanis morissette: HEY! YOU NEED TO QUIT COOKING IN THE DINING ROOM WHILE YOU'RE STANDING ON YOUR SKATEBOARD! his response? (he's sooo my kid)... WHAT? I'M NOT USING ANY SHARP CUTTING IMPLEMENTS RIGHT NOW!

point. but quit taunting me with the tasty avocados, please.

happy trails, runners.

Uh.... I ran nearly 11 this morning. More than double what I had planned, but I'm excited and had lots to think about and just kept going.

Got an "all right All Right ALL RIGHT!" in a David Wooderson* voice from the garbage man as I ran past in the rain. Very funny.

*Matthew McConaughey's character in Dazed and Confused.
