Mornin', BBS. -- Ugh! That' looks rough. Wouldn't have any idea what my 3K pace even is. Good luck.

Lots of work today. Will find a way to fit in 11 with 5 @ tempo at some point, either outside or on the 'mill. We'll see.

Good morning Chances and BBS.

BBS- That workout should be tough. Good luck on the workout.

I got out for 5.3 miles in 43:39(8:14). It is not as hot as yesterday, but it is still warm. Keep up the great running, biking. swimming, walking etc.... Have a great morning.

Jill - Just scrape the burnt bits off and you're good to go!

Dan - I like your style!

kfuller - Nice going. Is it me or is your pace improving?

Chances - That looks like a tough one. I don't know how you do it but I like it.

BBS - Jeepers, you like your 400s! I just go for 5k pace as it's simpler and I don't feel like running faster.

So, 5 miles to the gym with 3 @ tempo. Weights and chit-chat with some friends. 5 miles home a bit slower. My buddy is talking me to go to track tomorrow for 800s. May have DW pickup DD from daycare so I can make it. They have 60-80 people show up... I'm pretty sure that it'll kill me as I haven't been on the track since 2008. Say a silent prayer from me.

RA- I think the pace at which I run my easy runs is improving. It still takes a mile to get me going in the morning, but then I start to pick it up. Hopefully tomorrow at the track will be an indicator of how my training has been going. I want to try for a sub 6 minute mile sometime in this training cycle though.

Morning peeps...

I'm back at it this evening...track night, unless t-storms intervene and make it a treadmill night. Looks mighty similar to BBS' workout, 12-14 x 400, 100 rests in between. Supposedly these are 5k pace but I'll probably run 'em all under 90, esp if I'm on the track...which is definitely more like 3k pace.

Nice running being done so far. Jill, I'm not surprised your legs are still toast. And RA, you'll learn to love the track again. ;)

Flyby from the library. Last week I cut the phone line while gardening. Today AT&T came to bury the new line. In the process they cut the Time Warner line. It's always something!!!

Son1 and I headed out early this mornng to drive to Buck Creek. We rode the half ironman bike course. We had planned on doing it twice for the full 56miles, but son1 decided he was still toast from the past weekend's double century. Settled for 26 very hilly miles. I did a quick shoe change at the van and headed out for an easy 2mile run. SInce we were at the lake, only one thing left to do--a dip in the lake!

HOPEFULLY I'll be back tomorrow. If not, nothing wrong, just no net access!

Because that was an "accident". You need to tether a smart phone (assuming you have a smart phone and a nice data plan) to your PC ... saying that a truck will hit the cell tower and knock that down.

Hey all - looks like BBS started the day with a wheaties work out.

Hawk -, good luck at track tonight, when does soccer start up? DD played a summer league but has a break right now until beginning of august for fall league. I think she has a mental thing going since her knee surgery and seems to be holding back a little. Hoping maybe as time goes on she will feel more confident and trust her knee more.

I am late on my post, but Sunday was 4m, Monday was gym and today was light 2m. I had to run in mid afternoon heat, so I kept it short Plus I had the pup with me so couldn't take her too far in the heat.

Tomorrow will shoot for early morning run and get 4m in.

Great day all !!

Back from the track and a wet 12 x 400. It started coming down hard as I warmed up, but there was no lightning, so I pressed on. It had been a while since I did this long an interval workout and I was a little surprised how tired I got. Still managed to keep them all in the 89-93 range. Not too bad.

Apple - I'm playing summer soccer now. It's been nice to be able to play a little more because when marathon training and racing returns it gets harder to play at a high level. Sorry to hear of your DD's struggles. Sounds like she just needs to be brave and get stuck in. That first tackle is the scariest. Or maybe she'd rather become a runner. :) Only she knows.
