<p>Don: You are right. 10 seconds in a mountain race is truly insignificant. I know that. I'm not at all bummed about running slower this year, because I know that although it was 10 seconds, I ran exactly the same as last year. Same as with Mount Washington. I was faster this year by 30 seconds but in reality it was the same race. Thing is, I was hoping that I would be wildly faster this year just from having a full year of mountain running under my belt. But not so. I know myself, though, and when I do something new, I tend to hit workouts very hard to best prepare myself, so going into last year, even though it was my first year doing that kind of thing, I entered in good climbing shape.</p>

<p>Needed sleep more than clycling this a.m. so I put off my ride until after work.  Going to hit the elliptical at lunch for an hour to read my kindle and keep getting the ankle to heal hopefully enough so I can race MA State Oly this weekend.  Fingers crossed.</p>

<p>Oh my...yesterday's bike commute left me sluggish today! But I vow to do it at least once a week to log more miles. I really enjoyed it - it was a great way to start the day, and a good way to let my brain unwind at the end.</p>

<p>For today...40 minutes on the treadmill doing intervals. Swim on tap tonight.</p>

<p>need to get here more often so I don't feel like a lurker.  Did the local lake this morning (3+) followed by a no equipment workout at the high school track with bleachers.  At lunch I hit the pool since I have about 6 weeks till Mooseman Sprint.  Very hot and humid during the run this morning and it was not all that pleasant going to the car at lunch.</p>

<p>I need a vacation to recover from my vacation!  Spent much of Sunday and Monday traveling so today will be a run day...it WILL be a run day.  I'm trying to psyche myself up for a run once Muppet is in bed.  Heat index is forcing me on to the treadmill, but at least I have that option!</p>

<p>ETA: 4 treadmill miles done...slow and steady as dictated by the schedule.</p>

<p>A solid workout day after some rest over the weekend.</p>
<p> </p>
<p>1.2mile OWS, one of the fastest without wetsuits</p>
<p>Then in the evening, participated our club's Brick workout - 20miles bike then 3.5mile or so run.  DH decided to join and that was cool.</p>
<p>Wrist seems to be getting worse in spite of no mtbking (and I know I don't use whole a lot of thumb/wrist while riding tri bike). :( </p>

<p>Got in a solid trainer workout.  6x2 min intervals with 2 min rest.  then the rest of the hour, I did a pretty steady state workout. I'm still trying to get my bike legs back and build base. I have to remember that the "speed" on the trainer doesn't mean squat. </p>

<p>I did a 1 hr ez ride. Avoided the temptations to hit it hard with the local group... so I went solo and enjoyed the forest preserve trails</p>
