January is almost gone already?

Our TM is in the Master bedroom. We leave it flush against the wall, but if you want to be able to see the TV better you have to pull it away some.

A friend of mine wants me to run some trails with him this morning. 6-7 miles. I need to go to the running store and pick up some stuff, so I may do that today as well. Then theres the attic that I've been talking about cleaning out...

BBS--enjoy the trail run.

Fishbowl this morning. Heart wasn't in it. Going to the foot doctor this afternoon to get a toenail dug out. Oh joy... Tomorrow is a rest day which is what I really needed today. But, with a meeting 9-12 and work 2-4, I knew I'd never fit in a workout tomorrow.

BBS -- Same deal here with the 'mill and TV. Always afraid it's gonna fall. Happy trails.

Mom -- Gross. And ow. And sorry about the crappy 'bowl workout.

Me -- Swamped at work, with a ton of travel coming up next month. Gonna need a Bay Area gym membership before long. 9 miles later today, and will try to fit in a swim.

Good ones, all.

Enjoy the trail run BBS and nice work in the pool 4bm.

Easy 7 last night in the evening chill. Really looking forward to a few weeks from now when I'll at least be starting post-work runs in the daylight. Not much in the tank last night, just ran at recovery pace.

Tonight - 8 with 30 minutes in the middle at sub-LAT pace. Time to start getting my tempo on again.

Not looking too bad on the January totals. It will be my highest mileage in some time plus a new record for swim distance.

BBS - Enjoy the trails. Note that you can jump on/off the bed for a plyometrics workout too. Once you've cleaned out your attic please come and do the same at my house. Oh the crap we have up there.

4boysmom - have fun at the podiatrist. Mine would surely faint at the sight of my toe nails (well the ones that I have).

Hawk - nice job last night - enjoy the tempo today. I too am trying to get in the habit of a regular tempo run to go with the semi regular intervals.

Chances - no rest for the wicked. Hope you get your run-swim brick in.

Hit up the indoor track for a tempo run this morning. For some reason I thought it opened at 6am. Nope, opens at 5am so finished late enough for DW to complain that coffee wasn't ready when she woke up. Anyway, 8 miles with 6 @ HM pace (6:30-6:40 mpw). Got lapped by one guy hammering around the track at 6mpm (or faster) for a long time. I almost cried.

Anyway, given it'll be in the 50s this afternoon, I plan to get out for a recovery run. Will be great in one direction given the 20+ mph wind.

Yesterday I bagged that 5'er I was thinking about. Did some core and hip strengthening exercises, which made the tempo run tougher that I'd hoped.

BBS- hope the trail run was fun. As far as the t.v goes, I just rest the laptop on the treadmill and watch netflix.

4boys- toe nail dug out. The most glamorous part of the day for both you and the doc, no doubt.

chances - the opportunity to run in Bay Area weather will be sweet!

hawk- enjoy the tempo. I haven't done any speed in ages.

RA- there's no crying in baseba--, er, track workouts

Me- a bonus 4 mile run while Easy was in his gymnastics class. I'll probably jog another 4-5 this evening while Miss Sunshine meets witht he reading tutor. So much enrichment for the kids is good for my mileage.

I had to get in a run in around 45 minutes this afternoon. So I went out and ran 5 miles in 40:59 (8:12). It felt nice and good until I was running down the last hill on my route and my heel and achilles started to hurt. I decided that I need new shoes, so I ordered some.

Nice job on all of the running today.

Back from the loop around town. Planned on 5 but legs felt stiff for some reason and knee started up. Time to go back to the pre-run advil treatment. Weather was balmy and actually took long sleeves off and ran in short sleeves. Crazy weather but enjoying it.

Hawk - It's nice to have a job but hard to give up the option to run whenever :)

You're not kidding! I love my new job but so far it's kept me way too busy to get out for the lunchtime runs I used to enjoy. So evening runs are becoming the norm. And thanks to the darkness I was on the TM even though it was nice and warm outside. At least I was able to open the back door of the basement room where our TM is. Anyway, right there with you on being ready for longer days.

7 miles total - 10 minutes warmup, then 30 minutes covering 4.32 miles total. Cooldown at an easy pace until I hit 7 miles. Good workout, followed by 15 minutes of core.
