Good morning everyone.

46 minute workout on the spin bike with the MS being one legged drills. 7 x 1 min left leg; 1 min both; 1 min right leg; 1 min both. Followed by a 1 mile run on the TM.

Happy training everyone.

1 minute one leg drills can be tough, I think they really work.

AM computrainer group ride today. The ride was just 75 minutes hammer. I did really well, my watts were decent, haven't downloaded the data but most of the second half was above 200, possibly around 230s. Getting a wisdom tooth pulled this am, that's it for me.

Thanks for starting the daily thread consistently David!

1:15 on the treadmill. 15 min WU. 5 x 1 mi, starting at 6:15 min/mi and working down to 5:52 min/mi within each repeat. 2 min recovery. 20 min CD. 10.57 mi total. Tried out my new footpod, which I'm hoping will allow me to capture data when I'm indoor running, needs to be calibrated.

Noon computrainer session on tap. I fly back north tomorrow morning.

Have a great day, tri-peeps!

Easy run on the treadmill this aft for however long the kid naps...probably in the 3 mi range. If DH goes down to use the treadmill this evening, I'll keep him company and do some ab work.

Good morning, TEAM LIT!

Adco/Moco: Sorry to hear about the cat.

Me...

9.25 mile run early this morning including 6 passes of a nearby hill at the end. Ran first 45 minutes with the Diesel then broke off for repeats. Legs still no pop. Repeats were: 2:05, 2:08, 2:02, 2:05, 2:06, 2:06

Followed by a "Bob" workout video with my wife. She loves this video and has been asking me to do it with her for some time. It was good with all the reps, and now that I have a lot of "free" time I decided to do it.

Heading out for a 6-mile run shortly. I've got some "tri socks" to wear test today. Supposedly, they should be easier to pull on to wet feet but I've been checking them out and it seems like it's just a marketing gimmick. BD says I should get my feet wet and try to put them on...maybe after my run.

Spent a couple of hours taping off Little BD's room yesterday in preparation for painting. Each wall is a different color...OY! First coat on 2 walls going up today.

Me- just a 2 mile easy run today with abs, push-ups, etc. after.

We're supposed to get a "snow event" this afternoon. I wonder what the difference between an "event" and a "storm" is???

Sorry about the car... RIP

Thor - 'Bob Video'? I am trying to picture you jumping up and down in front of TV screen....

8 miles including 3x2mile cruise interval at 7:40 (half) pace w/2min recovery. Found 1mile stretch of clean street with little traffic, out/back, out/back...outbound includes slight downhill and wind was in my back, inbound was... the opposite.. Yikes. With snow flurry & wind, on top of the tired legs, it was tougher than I would have liked. 7:23/7:52 - 7:23/7:45 - 7:21/7:50 (ave. 7:33). And this is only 1st week of real marathon training.....

4.5 mile run - first mile fast (7:20ish) the rest slow until a last .5 mile pick-up. Ended up at 8:25 pace - so a slight improvement over last week's pace. Definitely sucking wind tho'.

Almost made it back to the pool this AM, but DW's got pneumonia and was coughing up a storm overnight, so she slept in and I did bus duty. Not looking forward to the return to the fishbowl AT all. Maybe Thursday, or maybe I'll just wait till next week....

Sorry Ad/Mo ... Those trips are always hard.

Thanks for the DD congrats yesterday. True about cutting college teams. UNH cut the men's swim team a few years back for title IX ... a stupid financial move considering the relative cost of the team in comparison to some others, and the fact that some colleges are looking for dual meets.

So sorry to hear about your cat, Dmitri, Adam & Monica.

Guess some snow is headed our way!

7.13 miles this morning (that's just the way the route works out) with the first half in HR zn 2 avg and the second half a progressive build into HR zn 4 avg. Head felt a bit foggy as I got ready to head out, but feels clear now. Bit chilly. Even walking the dogs before my run seemed to fail to warm me up enough and I started out feeling a bit cold. Didn't end feeling that way. LOL!

Hopefully, will be able to get a strength workout in tonight.

I find that I'm always slow the first few weeks of marathon training. If you're like me you've not been doing any speedwork up to this point in the training cycle and it will show. Give it some time. I always freak out the first few weeks of marathon training and whine to my coach that there is no way I'm going to be able to hit my goal. She talks me down off the ledge and come marathon time, I hit my goals. Plus, running into the wind always slows you down more than having the wind at your back pushes you along. You hit your target pace, that's what counts. Great job!

My coach was leading the noon computrainer session today. I've got my annual spring biking trip to Palm Springs coming up at the beginning of Feb and I mentioned to her that the group has a 100 mile ride planned for the first day. Coach looked at me and said 'You need to go back and read your training logs from last year. Remember what you felt like when the trip was finished? Remember what your workouts were like in the week or two after that trip? Then come back and tell me if that sounds like a smart idea.'

Coach is wise. Whether I'll actually heed her advice or not, that's another matter...
