Nice ride Eric. Speaking for myself I was not sleeping in but since it snowed about 1/2 inch everyone stopped driving so it was a commute from hell. I ran in the snow this morning from the Y. It was a different 5 mile loop and it was a good run. Couple of sanders went by us and the drivers were nice guys as they stopped the spreaders as they drove by rather than snad blasting our ankles. Roads were not too bad except for one about 1/2 mile from teh end which ran like a hockey rink with a thin layer of snow on the surface.

Hahaha. I don't care what the calendar says, April is still winter here so I figure we have three more months of crap. At least Feb is a short month!

Easy-ish 30 minute trainer session after work tonight, just to get the legs back. Then probably a short-ish swim.

Still a little sore from the half marathon, but not bad. Will probably try an easy run tomorrow.

6 mile run with 2 X 1.5 miles at 15K pace. Hit both cruise intervals at 8:27 m/m. Cursed myself for having time goals as usual during any speed sessions. First coat of paint in the loft today!

I am done with this winter s*Ht too.

Scott - sorry to hear about your knee. Hope you can figure out what the culprit was.

Mike - read about your sucky long run. Glad that you got that one out of your way. Hope your recovery from bonking is going well.

Whether I ran the Sunday long run too fast or this is just accmulated fatigue, boy was I tired. I was like a zombie last night. Skipped swimming. Thanks to 8.5+hrs of sleeping, I felt better and tackeled the Tuesday cruise interval (3x2miles at HM pace, 7:40, w/2min rest). After the first one at 7:43/7:43, I was about to quit. But my stubborn nature wouldn't let that happen as usual. Modified the workout to 4x1mile w/1min rest and got it done at 7:32/7:29/7:42/7:28. I am taking the experts' advice that these two cruise intervals have very similar physiological effects. So... 8miles done w/ a big on my log book and move on. Will see how Thurs. MP run goes.

I'm still ok with winter but I only have a 2 mile commute. We only had a low of -12 this morning so things are improving.

Today was one of "those days": my hard drive crashed 1st thing this am, fortunately IT person quickly took care of it, DS came home crying b/c he felt so sick with chills & fever, other DS totally annoyed with mandatory indoor recess due to below zero temps after ranting about that he accidentally dropped his iPod in the toilet. Enough venting...I really want to get a workout in later.

I'm trying to wish away the warm, windy temps this week!! Can you east coasters send me some cold???? Although if it got below 60, the CA wussies would complain about that too. haha (I can say that cuz I'm a CA native).

Anywho...30 minute tempo run on the hamster wheel this morning. I'm always slower on the treadmill...kinda weird.

Yosh: thanks. Doctor says it was some overuse injury, he wrapped it up with kinesio tape and feels much better. Said it should be ok soon, I just need to stretch!

75 grueling minutes on the trainer group ride. Hardest one to date, but my watts were up up. 10 warmup 5 x :)30s big gear, :30s rest, :30fast spin, :30 rest).... MS: 15minutest 95 to 110FTP, easy 5 min, 10 minutes at around ftp, 3 minutes rest, 5 minutes at 280 watts to 300, 2 minutes rest, then 5 x 1minute at 330 to 350, 1 minute easy. I started in the 250s on the 15 minutes but was eaily holding 270s at the end. That 5 minutes near 300 killed me. Its days like this I wonder if the CT is right or I'm getting stronger. Only way is find out on the roads!

45 minutes of swiss ball and cords. I'm convinced these are the only two things you need to get super strong, especially sport specific. I learned a lot of new moves in classes that work everything. Don't think I'll touch weights again..

Slept in a little.. to 5:30, but alarm got me up, so clearly I'm tired. Screwed around too much working and messed up with workout window. I tried to get the cross bike on the computrainer but a huge FAIL due to wrong tires.. So I did 20min weights then worked on getting the new tire on before I had to drop kids @ school.

so I got the kids to school then did a reboot on the workouts...

1hr trainer w/ 7x3min ME, and some cadence and 1 leg drills.

FIB 40min z2/z3 on the treadmill

that went fine. Thankfully.

Heat wave in Chicago... was 30something and sunny. Snow's melting like crazy. Nice.
