10 miles relatively ez this morning. Strong winds last few days and forecast thru the weekend.

Johnny - it seems KU plays only well enough to win lately. They can't do that much longer and win the tournament.

Dove - a better way of saying what I said yesterday is that you haven't reached your potential yet. Go for it.

Hey ks!

It's getting breezy here too today. mid 30's temp for my 6 mile at SEP to loosen up a sore/tight right AT and heel. It feels much better now.

Liam, we're all runners and we've all been there, so you have nothing to be shy about. Post 'em!

Hi Hally! You're no doubt entering prime bike season, right?

Hi folks! I ran 10 miles today, just like KS, but probably in twice the time... heh, good thing my schedule is nice and wide open... ;)

Making lots of calls, getting things done. Still don't have a clue as to when my surgery will be, or which one, but at least I'm being busy about it.

80° today TW? Mike and I must be too far north. Checked the forecast for my race this weekend and it says 40s and raining. Only in the 40s here today so I went back inside.

Mike, I have yet to get on the bike. Still too windy and cold for me or if it was nice enough I had other plans. Still great hiking/caching weather and I've been doing that most weekends. Last weekend did the annual Spring Equinox Picnic hike. This year was the easiest one I've attended. Sterling Forest just over the NJ border. 6 miles/1200 feet highest elevation. Sure beat last years hike, 13 miles in deep or melting snow and everyone wanted to kill the organizer when we finished :0)

Glad Dove stopped by. Please do NOT beat yourself up. You know you are amazing.

Dove.... I'll echo everyone else's comments. You ARE an amazing runner. Congrats on the big PR!! I want to be like you when I grow up!

Like Mike said, Liam... we've all been there and remember how what's easy now seemed so hard then. As somebody said quite a while ago, there are three parts of the cycle for a runner: 1) being injured 2) recovering from an injury and 3) preparing for the next injury!

Gym day for me.... glutes, abs, hips, calves and hamstring work on the menu! Yea!

Saw the sports med doc this aft and got another couple of days off running. My self diagnosis was right on the money.... Morton's neuroma, combined with a "dropped metatarsal head". He thinks the neuroma is the main pain trigger, so injected me with a new preparation that's supposed to do a good job calming the nerve down. Anyone heard of Serapin? Not like me to jump into something so quickly, especially something so experimental (and not Health Canada approved ), but this guy's one of the best in town and thinks that this is the best bet that'll work and keep me running. Fingers are crossed that this will help. Also need to shop for larger shoes! Drat....just bought two new pair since Xmas and at least one's going to have to go.

OK guys, well, with a mildly red face (due to the heat when I walked to the Walmart{yes, we have them here in Argentina!}), I will post my recovery amongst you all, and thanks for the encouragement.

As for training for my next injury, that has been a recurrent theme since I ran Huntington Beach three years ago, so this time, I am going to do everything by the book. Having only re-started running last week, I am keeping to the every Other Day Plan, and little runs at that - Take my time, and be ready to pick it up only when I am ready. So, today was a "rest" day, although i was itching to get out, even to the point that I put on my runners, but common sense prevailed, and I will wait until tomorrow to hit the road again. looking forward to the day I can post about my 5 miler at sub 8 minute pace, but until then, I'll read your thoughts and words, and keep plodding gently.

Personally I'm trying to buck that theme of either being injured, recovering from injury, or waiting/preparing for new injury, but then, aren't we all.

7 miles today. 2nd consecutive day of No Rain....yippee

Nice runs all who ran today.

Is that Pacific Shoreline in Huntington Beach you're referring to Liam.....I've ran a half there a few times some years back. I'm supposed to run the half there next year with my daughters, one of whom lives in HB, but I understand they haven't been training much, so maybe not.

Believe me, I am too....

No, I was referring to the Surf City Marathon, back in Jan 2008 (Superbowl Weekend). It was a KickRunners get together, and I had the pleasure of running with Joe (Voodoo) on the day, which sadly was my last time with him... but i have great memories of the weekend. Best of luck if you run there - The wind coming of the ocean can be a swine.

Welcome, Liam.

As with Mike, my AT, I guess that's what it is, is coming along nicely and I'm not particularly pushing it.

Did 6.1 at a nice even clip.

Planning on helping at the the Terrapin 50k and HM this weekend and watch my buds run.

Good evening friends. I signed up for the New York Avon Breast Cancer walk this evening, October 15 & 16. A marathon on Saturday and a half on Sunday. But it's walking. It's going to be reeeeeeeally hard not to run any of it, let me tell you....
