Tuesday Fun? 10-19-10

I'm dopey this morning, could not get out of bed and when I got down stairs and looked in the mirror I was exhasperated that I look so much like Weird Al with my glasses on and hair all wild and curly. 
 
One of my long lost friends from college and I are starting a book club and tonight is the first get together. I'm super excited to see her! I haven't seen her since the summer of 2000 and we just found out we live in the same small town!!

I finally got home at 9:30 last night...then i cleaned my bathroom, and did a variety of other chores. Finally took a hot bath around 10:15, and slept like the dead until my alarm this morning. Got in early again!

I slept last night!!! Yeehaw!!!! Getting an earlier start makes a HUGE difference in my day and how much I get accomplished.

My two year old told me "I bored" on the way to daycare this morning. I'm still giggly about that one. 
Nothing bad here, just busy. And behind on school work, so I had to impose some kick free hours

You should have seen me this morning. Glasses on, hair all frizzy and curly and allllll over the place. I looked in the mirror and I seriously saw Weird Al.
 
and my friend Megan has decided she's going to put all of my stories into a book. She has a whole file on her desk top of my stories. 
 
 
A: We were at Mothers Day Lunch this past May and my cousin's 4 year old daughter was sitting at the end of the table listening to all of us chatter on when all of a sudden she sits up straight and says " Blah blah blah you guys talk to much, when do we get dessert" our whole corner of the resturant just busted a gut laughing. There was an old guy at the next table and he pipes in " You said it Kiddo! they all talk to much and I want dessert too!" I love when little kids say funny stuff like that.

It's been cold here overnight but we haven't turned our heat on yet. Poor Jackasaurus gets cold, and has figured out how to pull the throw off the couch. The last couple mornings he has been wrapped up like a burrito, and when he comes out to see me in the kitchen he brings it with him:

Morning!
 
So I have been working like mad to get this project done, mainly because we kept hearing how our funding for next year would hinge on it. Been nothing but one cluster F after another (I can honestly say none of it was my doing) and finally, after starting it in March, I see the end in sight. But yesterday we were told the decision was already made...no funding for next year. I am so ticked off!!! I will see this project through of course cause it was my baby but WTF?! I really love this project so will be sad to end it. But there was also good news, the other project I work on is the new hot topic around here and our funding for that will at minimum double for next year. 
 
Last night I asked Aiden to put his toys away and he said "Yeah yeah yeah whatever Lori". Took everything I had not to laugh. Funny thing is, he did it so I wasn't mad and I am sure he had no idea what he was saying.

Daisy loves blankets too. Last night she was all out of sorts b/c Lucy (our 11yo Lab) was on the big dog pillow that she normally appropriates. She was on the couch, off the couch, on the loveseat, off the loveseat, plopped on the floor, sighed noisily...you get the idea. Finally Lucy followed DH into the kitchen and Daisy snagged the pillow. Just really busy here and hard deadlines. It'll slow down in a couple weeks then pick up again around the holidays (grrrrr...the bigwigs have trips overseas planned for early January, and we're not getting out intercession off like we're supposed to.)

No fun here yet. Slept pretty dang well until 4am, where Pip woke me up with his warning chop licking. Took him to the tub where he hurled. Meh. Cleaned it and his choppers up and it was back to bed for two hours. Not that the incident at 4am was fun, but it was certainly more fun than having him yak IN bed. That's fo sho!
 
Mom and my stepdad are coming over on Saturday to check out the new living room look. I'm strangely excited. The walls are bare, and the mantle only has two small bamboo plants on it, but I still like the look. Though I do (at some point) need to buy a very small coffee table for the couch. Right now, there is nowhere to put drinks/food, though I have TV tray tables that will come out when we watch the GA Tech / Clemson game that afternoon. <img alt="smile.gif" class="bbcode_smiley" src="http://files.kickrunners.com/smilies//smile.gif">
 
Oh.. I've been informed that my company-supplied pumpkin is in fact, one for cooking. It can be carved too, though it's a bit small. Perhaps that's a good starter for me in both ways <img alt="smile.gif" class="bbcode_smiley" src="http://files.kickrunners.com/smilies//smile.gif">

I always teach my nieces and nephews how to say their parents' first names. <img alt="" src="http://files.kickrunners.com/smilies/biggrin.gif" title=""> In fact, I do believe it is time to teach my sister Lisa's name to her nearly-2 y/o daughter Norah. Drives my sister nuts. 

 
As for funny kid stories, a friend of mine posted on FB that her 8 y/o son asked her yesterday what they made food out of when she was young. Not sure what he thought it would have been, lol!
