Hey all - I was out of pocket yesterday, so just catching up on everyone now. Yay to Katholeenie and Tim for the all clear to run!

(((((30s hurty parts)))))

I too slacked over the weekend. Was going to log 12 miles on Sunuday, but ended up clearing out up upstairs for round #2 of painting and trim. Gah - it was dusty in some parts. Glad we are doing this, even though our house will be ripped up for the next 2 weeks.

Eugene training started yesterday, but with a rest day. I did do my core work though and instituted day #1 of better nutrition/hydration/sleep. That will be a HUGE component in my training this season.

Yay for peeps who may make it out to Eugene - the more the merrier. Logistics are a bit crazy for getting there from here, so kiddos definitely will not be going with me. Pulling them out of school + $450 plane tixs + 8 hours travel time (minimum) each way = bad idea.

Greetings, everyone. Core + spinning was on tap yesterday. Had a bit of a good chuckle before class. There is a guy in (I'm guessing) his 60's that comes to class frequently. He's a bit of a ham. Full of life, always the class clown. Pre-class he walked into a group of us that were discussing weekend football activities, both college and NFL. Apparently he was shocked that a chick (the only one in the discussion) was informed of such things. /snicker.

Anywho.. a small run will be on tap for this evening. I figure a week or so of 3 milers should (hopefully) allow for some healing, while allowing me some activity. My legs are so very trashed now!

Happy runs, walks, biking and classes, etc to everyone today!

Morning Gang -

Mindi - I always think it's funny starting training programs with a rest day from running. At least you focused on other good stuff. Which plan are you following?

I took day off from running today (ran 8 days in a row, which is more than I normally do), but did pilates abs.

Good runs and rests to all today.

Good thoughts to those of you who are banged up...

You guys should have all gone to Eugene this past year.

I had a nice interval run last night. I think I'll hit the gym today, and maybe get a few miles on the TM...

Haha - I always like starting training cycles with a rest day. Monday is gold like that for me. Today I officially started my training with a tempo run. Ouch. It was not raining out there, but it was windy and my 3 miles @ tempo were harder and slower than they should have been. But it feels really good to be back at it and I have some high aspirations for the spring. Time to get back into shape!!

I am following a modified Pfitz program - up to 55 mpw, but will likely kick it up slightly so I hit 60 a few times. What training program are you looking at doing for the spring?

fargity farg farg. Got a work call at 4:30, when that issue was resolved, hit the road. Got about halfway to work, realized that my gym bag was still at the foot of my bed. Turn around and go home, thus killing any workout time for the day. Boo. Will try to sneak out at lunch, or maybe this evening. Although it is supposed to rain.

Happy returns Kath and Tim.

Pfitz 12/55, but modified to add extra miles like I did last time. I'm tentatively looking at doing Little Rock Marathon on March 6, which is only 13 weeks away! Nice job on the tempo run!

Cool re Arkansas! I am taking the opposite approach and doing an extra long training program. I usually do 17 or 18 weeks - this time I am at 22 or 23. I think I really need the extra base-building time. After a long season off, it is going to take some time to get into peak shape I think.

Late late night last night, so a super late start for me this morning.

Still, got 6 soggy miles in by myself, and then 1.25 with Gus. Poor guy was all kinds of hot at the end - it's 50 and humid here.

That was my longest run since Labor Day weekend. Felt really good too, despite the humidity making my arthritis ache. My hips & back never bothered me while I was running, but man, everything feels...... smoother, or something. YEEHAW!

Hooray for the all-clear, Kath and Tim! Good job on the intervals, Bob.

Congrats on choosing your spring races, RIL and RFTL! (Does anyone else have to double and triple check the usernames to make sure they know which one of those two lovely ladies is posting? No? Just me? OK, never mind then.)

I had a few days of holiday-induced slackitude last week, but I did my best to make up for them over the weekend.

Friday: 4 miles of boot camp (unofficial class with a few of the regulars) and 30+ minutes of additional cardio afterward

Saturday: 7.3 miles

Sunday: 1.5 hours of Spinning

Monday: 3+ miles of boot camp in the a.m. + Spinning in the p.m.

I'm hoping to get a few miles in today, but I have an appointment for a facial at 6:30 and may not have time beforehand. Plus I had to have a filling this morning (a filling! at age 44! what the ????) and I'm in a bit of pain. If I skip tonight, I'll just double up tomorrow.

Maria - the new instructor was good, but I like the other one better. What I really like is that this seems to be a quality studio -- good instructors, good setting. What I don't like is how expensive good yoga classes are :(
