Happy Valentine's Day all ...

Got up this morning for another one hour pace partner ride with the next group up. Probably closer to majority in Z2 - but still not bang on. Ended up with close to 25 on the big group ride with pace partner Coco...

Happy Valentines day.
Nothing happening here its the second Tuesday of the month which involves several meetings. A big storm was forecast but it is passing to the north so I should be able to get out for the meeting this evening.

Geo-are these real people you partner wiht? I had 2 on BKool and we used the translator to talk it was funny at one point when we realized if we were not typing into the translator we couldn't' understand each other at all. It was late in the evening for me and very ealry in the morning for the other 2 but we managed to ride together 1-2x/week.

The pace partners are robotic pacers that maintain a given w/kg around some loops, followed by a whole bunch of real people chasing the pace partner from all over the world. They do have active messaging in the companion (mobile) app - so you can message freely on that and see comments fly by (pretty random when you have 100 other people following the bots!).

Other groups have set up discord servers for their virtual cycling clubs - so several group rides use that for actual voice chat. Ended up doing that for the first time this past weekend, and it actually made the experience much more group-ride like!

Nothing for me today except usual am dog walk. Elbow follow up and more PT, then more meetings in the afternoon. Did play with the dog for a bit.

I’m so out of the online workout culture…

2-mile walk during lunch. Like 50F, sunny. Just weird…. And 1:20 on my fat bike on gravel road after work. I had a light but it got darker way sooner than I thought it would be. I think strangely warm weather made my body/brain think it would stay light for a few hours after work. We were thinking to go out tonight but 9pm meeting with japan killed it. (And have 6am meeting tomorrow, wtf)
