Good morning all.

BBS sorry about work -- enjoy the rest.

A cold and windy 10 miles on the canal for me this morning. The head wind going out kind of sucked, but the tail wind coming back felt pretty good...

Morning...

Kevin - Another nice 5er

Loopy - Wind can certainly be a pain and a blessing. Nice if the tailwind is while coming home.

BBS - How's the bod feeling?

Hmmm, Gonna do something. May start running and waling today. I'm trying to decide whether to do a full 8 week program and just take it really slow or play it as it goes. I guess the decision will be my body's.

Hit up the gym for weights this morning. Got bored after leg press, chest press, lat pull down and shoulders so did my 5'er at the gym rather than waiting to later in the day.

Dan - hope you get the run/walk going

kfuller - nice 5'er, again.

Loopy - I always get the opposite...

BBS - hey, no rush to get back at it.

Morning all,

5.25 miles + 40 minutes of weights last night. Nothing particularly exciting. But all the excitement started right after that, when we found a puddle near the furnace and traced it back to somewhere inside the unit. Turns out a pipe had corroded and sprung a small leak; the pipe needs to be replaced -- sounds simple enough -- but the unit is so old that may not be possible. Meanwhile we are hoping the caulk job put in place will hold. If nothing else it buys time to price out a new furnace.

I got to the office late because of all this so didn't bother to bring a running gear bag. I wouldn't have had time anyway. Work is just too stressful right now...guess that's why it's called work. Will somehow get 8 in tonight, even if it means having to give up the TM to DW and head outside into the sub-freezing darkness.

Ugh. Where's the reset button?

Gotta go. Nice job running, walking and resting so far.

RA - Hey, ya got it all in. I miss weights.

Hawk - Sorry about the home stuff. Life is so high maintenance some times. A reset button sounds great!

Did 30 minutes of 3 walk 3 run. Would like to say it was easy but... Think I'll only do 4 days a week for at least a couple of weeks for the extra recovery. And so the next great experiment has begun. Stay tuned.

Just PT this morning for me and planned rest, wound up doing yoga last night to get both temperature extremes in. RA and Hawk, I don't wear the Yak-Trax much, sometimes on roads when it's icy. On trails, the snow just seems to get clogged up in the coils. Hopefully, roads will be clear tomorrow for a lunchtime run.

Nice runs & recovering, all

40mins for me today...glad too, since it seemed for a while my bum was stuck to the couch playing Modern Warfare 2.

Mom-finals are next week for me. Your kid is in college now???

John-does 5 at the gym mean *gasp* you did it on the TM? Yuck. I'd think after that quasi-race you'd stay the heck away from them for a while.

CMJ-Hope things settle down long enough for you to take care of that furnace. I remember my junior year in high school, sometime in Jan. or Feb. waking up at about 3AM to frosty breath and a house in the 40s...hope it gets figured out soon!
