Morning eveyone...

Been up all night. My older dog is not doing well. I'm really not thinking he's going to make it. I'm exhausted and drained emotionally. Sorry to start your day with this but there's no one else to talk to this early.

For sure I'm not doing anything today.

Dan--sorry to hear about your pup. Yah, they really are part of the family.

Nothing yet. Terrible night's sleep, so decided to sleep in. I'll probably head to the metro park later today. Hopefully there is pavement there.

4boys - good luck finding dry roads

I went back and forth between running or not today, but wound up sleeping in and just did some upper body/abs stuff this morning. Yoga and shopping on tap for today. Things are pretty icy around here, looks like treadmill speedwork tomorrow.

Morning folks,

It's another cold & windy one here, lots of random ice patches too. This weather pattern is getting a little tiresome but I'll be out there for a lunch time run. I'm thinking at least 7, and maybe I can stretch it to 9.

Dan - sorry about the dog. We've lost a couple of our pet rabbits over the years and it's always tough.

4bm - have a good run later

Hawk- I do have a wii if that counts.

I got in a cardio workout and maybe some other stuff this afternoon. It is snowing here and has either been raining or attempting to snow since Saturday. The mountains have had lots of snow. Up to 4 feet of it. Good skiing conditions.

Dan--sorry about the pup. Was this a rottie? Can you post a photo?

Heading out now for a run. Had planned to go at lunch but son3 got himself in trouble (again) and that had to be dealt with. If this kid survives childhood (read--if I dont' kill him first!).

Dan-It's amazing the relationships we can form with pets. I was at school last year when our older dog got put down after a lengthy decline in health and just heard about it in a phone conversation with the folks. It's rough, I know. I hope you've got something to take your mind off of things for a bit...I loved just looking at photos of me growing up with my pooch. It was sad, but just seeing how much of my youth I got to share with him reminded me of how I blessed I was to have him at all. I hope you keep digging through those pictures...he looks like he would've been a great dog to have.

Finally back after another disappearing act...but final's week is done! Things went quite well, and I've already greatly enjoyed being home ((largely to a fridge with food in it and a house warmer than 62*)! Can't wait to lay down some serious training for a few weeks, but it will be tough to work lifting into my schedule like at school. Perhaps I can get a key from my Coach for the HS weight room.

I hope everyone has a great day!

So sorry, Dan. But you gave him a great life...remember all the good times.

Afternoon run was done about 90 minutes ago. After going for a progression run yesterday, I figured today for sure would be an easy recovery paced trot. But that only lasted 3 miles or so - 8:44, 8:13, 7:57 - then it was time for some MP cruising in the low 7s the rest of the way. My legs felt good despite the chill & wind so I just went with it. Dressed perfectly on the bottom (wind pants over compression shorts) but the UA turtleneck under the light jacket on top was a little much, should have just gone with a tech shirt as the first layer. Ended up sticking the gloves in my pocket along the way.

I am sorry, Dan.

Today I had a very pleasant 7 mile run. I wish every race and run could be in 40-50 degree weather. Yesterday I did 2 miles, so the streak is still alive.

Dan--what a handsome fellow. How old was he?

Note to self: Do not run when pissed off. I'm a-gonna feel this one tomorrow and the next day... Headed to the metro park for a trot around the meadow. Six laps and times were all over the place even though I thought it was an even effort. Knew I was pushing it, but oh well. 5m, 42:09, 8:26pace.

Dan,

Sorry to hear you had to do that.

Still no running for me today. My legs are still sore. I had hoped to go for a mile walk, but I just never got motivated to do it. I might try a 3 mile run tomorrow.

65mins...mostly horrible footing in the slush thanks to the warm weather...but it was amazing running in the dark and still being 30*!!! Kinda sore above my knees and all-overish. Eh, it'll happen. More snuggling to movies now to make sure my food settles properly. :)

Have a great night everyone!
