Morning

I gotta watch a sick DD until 1, so I may try to squeeze in aTM run today, but will be tough. Ended up working last night and probably will the next 2 nights as well.

BBS - hope DD is better.

Since I ran on my SRD yesterday I decided to "cross-train" today. So, went to the gym for some fun and excitement. Spent 30 mins wishing I was not on the elliptical then another 30 mins doing some strength and core work. Maybe I can work up to an hour on the elliptical but if I'm going to be bored, I'd rather it be on the TM.

BBS -- Good dad to watch over DD. Hope you get that 'mill run in.

RA -- I'm with you on the elliptical. And we'll need a pic soon showing all the muscles you've been building.

Me -- It's DW's b-day, so out for dinner tonight, just us. Work, swim and 'mill today.

BBS--good luck squeezing in the run.

Asics--uh, what's the point in doing cross training you hate? I thought working out was to relieve stress, not add to it.

chances--enjoy the fishbowl.

Cold and rainy here today. Should have run yesterday when it was in the 50's. Oh well. Managed to nearly finish my shopping. I need to get out for a run today but did I mention it's cold and rainy?

4boysmom - I recall you saying that 50s and rain was ideal running weather... get to it. Re cross-training: no stress rather it's more that it's inside than the elliptical - just need to get used to it. Similarly, I have to get used to running on the TM again for the winter as that's also mind numbing until you master some mental games.

Hey all,

Just got back from, yes, yet another interview. This basically is interview hell week for me. But the payback will hopefully come when the calendar flips to 2012 and some of these start turning into offers. I'm reasonably confident I will have 2 or more to evaluate.

Having a latte and a little sandwich...great weather outside today is demanding I get out there for at least 7. As soon as the snack settles I'm out there. Then at around 5 I need to get to the airport to pick up FIL and his wife. And so it begins. Totally not ready for Christmas 2011 but to paraphrase Dr. Seuss it will come just the same. And it will work out, always does.

RA - +1 on elliptical. It's kind of like running, kind of like cycling but a poor substitute for either really.

BBS - sorry about the long hours & sick DD. Hope you get that run in.

50's and rain isn't so bad. 30's and rain is a whole 'nuther story! But, get out there and run I did. Planned on the short neighborhood route but ended up on the longer one which is an O&B. There's one house that I run by that used to have a sign out front that said "Pray for ***" The sign has since been moved to a window. Every time I run by I pray but I've always wondered the story behind the sign. Today, just as I was getting to the house someone pulled into the driveway so I stopped and asked. Their 26yo daughter was shot in the neck and is paralyzed from the neck down. Wow. I can't even imagine.

I got in a nice 4 X .25 miles on the treadmill. It was fun to put some speed in today. I need to find a happy medium if I run on the treadmill. All I want to do is go fast and get done quick. So the .25 were at 6:58 pace. 3.40 miles in 30 minutes.

A nice run in the books.
