I just wanted to get it started.

2oh, keep up the solid healing! I mark my shoes with the month and year, like, 12-10. When I'm running higher mileage and mainly using my Fastwitches which don't last much over 200, I end up getting shoes every 3 weeks or so. I try to keep at least 3 pairs in rotation.

I ended up running 6 yesterday. My easy paces are slowly staring to drop again. I'm still about 45 seconds/mile off what I was doing last year at this time but I think I'm making progress. I'm starting up a formal schedule again with coach on Sunday!!!! I can't wait! It'll be modified (much less speed, more strength) and easier than in the past for now until we see how I hold up. I hope I pull it together for Boston!

Speaking of Boston, Duck how are you doing?

It's cold here, in the 30's, so I'm in no huge rush to get out. I'll go for something short and easy in a bit...last easy week for the next 19! Yay.

Still cold here too. I'll probably take today off. We're taking the kiddo to the tree-lighting in our town tonight, so I won't have time for a run in my usual time slot. If I do anything, it'll be later, probably at home on the TM. But I won't object to just resting...

Morning all! Finally got back together with my Tuesday morning running buddy and got 7 miles logged this morning. The air was brisk but it felt awesome!

Marking shoes - I do the same but my scribbles are usually to differentiate pairs that are the same color and same model so 12 #3 (Nimbus 12, 3rd pair). I keep the start date in my running log.

marking running shoes: I just make sure to get a different color if I'm buying a second pair of the same version. Then the day I start using 'em is in the log.

5.3 miles this morning. Outside again! None of the forecasted snow has hit us yet so it's still safe footing out. Cold though...23F when I started my run at 9 a.m.

Yay for clipless!!! I've only tipped over once so far! I see someone (huge bike scene down here) tip over at least once a month when I'm out running. #1 rule, remember to unclip BEFORE you stop .

If I have all my ducks in a row with shoes in my full training and racing rotation, I'll have 3 Fastwitches (everyday trainer/marathon), 2 Type A3's (speedwork/races 1/2 and under), 2 or 3 "test" type trainers and racing flats (usually something given to me or that someone really thinks I should try out--I'll use those on recovery runs for the trainers and easier speedwork for the flats).

My house is a disaster zone of shoes, there are probably 50 pairs around. I wonder what the lady who was looking at our house thought when she opened all the closets? I donate or give away old ones, and I'm due to do that again!

Not as much of a biking crew around here... to damn cold! I purposefully bought the shoes and pedals so that I could practice over the winter, the last time I fell over, I broke my arm.

Hi all - a few yoga sun salutations yesterday; forgot you can build up quite a sweat from what seemingly seem to be easy movements. Wanted to break into a headstand for a few seconds, but figured forging a passageway from the hallway to a bedroom by tumbling through a wall wasn't exactly a good thing to do.

ART appointment was cancelled, so I may do some more yoga again today or hit up the foam roller with some upper-body stuff

Shoes - I put in some markings if I have more than one pair of the same-colored shoe in the rotation, but that hasn't been generally the case for me (for example, right now my rotation consists of two different styles of Mizunos, two different styles of Brooks and one pair of Sauconys)

Howdy! fly-by here. Spin class last night. Instructor ended it with speed-standing hill intervals with only 15 secs of recovery. (hard intensity, as fast as you can turn over the pedals. I probably swore enough to be due some Hail Mary's if I was Catholic.) 5M run on the hamster wheel in about an hour and a half, in fact.

I mark my shoes, but with different colored shoestrings. (I like being obnoxiously different sometimes!)

I mark my shoes with a number on the bottom (where it won't wear off) if I have more than one of the same color. The real details are in my log -- make, date I started using them, number code (if applicable).

5 B.l.u.s.t.e.r.y. miles with a capital B. Chilly, too. WTF. Just as I'm getting back to running, we skipped past fall here. Grr. After my run I went to yoga -- thought it was going to be the teacher I like, but there was a sub. She was good, but I still like the other better. 90 mins later, though, it's all good.
