Good luck Tonya!

I did 7 easy this morning. It was wicked humid, but only 58 degrees. Felt like heaven. This morning was the first time in weeks that it actually felt cool / temperate during my run.

Right calf is still a little tight from my half marathon last weekend, but overall I felt very good.

I did about 4 miles this morning. The temps were a lot cooler than they have been, it was nice. I took the waterfront boardwalk to smell the ocean.

Greetings, all. Spinning last night was great, as in quads-on-fire great! Woohoo. Had a little bit of a surprise, too. A guy in class (probably 50+ in age) is sort of the class welcoming committee. He knows everyone, what folks are up to, etc. Definitely the social butterfly. The other week, we talked about my snoopy tattoo. This week, he had made a sticker for me. Either drawn or copied off line (not sure which) was The Red Baron flying on the doghouse. The guy apparently works in printing of some sort, and had put 7-year clear vinyl over the sticker part, so i could easily put it on my car, if I wanted. It will survive the elements.

That is cool, Ailarie! Nice of him to do that for you! Sometimes it's the little things that make the most impact.

On my run this morning, I got a thought stuck in my head. So I'll toss it out as a QOD: What do you think is tougher, a short but wicked steep hill or a long gradual one? What would you rather have to deal with on a run?

On FB I had posted to Lori about 2011 - wasn't there talk of a 30s relay or ultra? The talk on that kind of petered out - let's pick it back up again!

4 miler last night and it was HOT. It was much cooler later and I kinda wished I had waited, but I had a Dairy Queen date with C that I also wanted to keep.

My feet were cramping SO badly after my run, I'm sure it's dehydration, I've did a suck job of drinking water over the weekend. I weighed myself on the Wii Fit last night and it was low, actually lower than I think it should be. But I've been weighing in at the gym so I'm going to run down there quick and see what that scale says. I may just need to rehydrate. I was having that stupid heart pounding yesterday too, and now I'm wondering if it might be hydration related.

Yay Missy! The recovery from that event is bliss...

I am not one of the cool weather runners this morning, although I got lucky and it rained the whole time. Hilton Head is soupy this time of year to say the least. I got up at 6:30 and did 2 miles. I decided to go back and do the couch to 5k (modified) to get back at it. It's frustrating to be having to start all over but I need simple goals to get me to commit and couch to 5k is what got me running 3 years ago so I am hoping it will get me consistent again.

The rain is clearing up so we'll be headed to the beach later where I plan on getting in some swimming.

Nice work to everyone who got out there so far! I got 6.45 miles done, w/ 6 x 100m strides at end. Felt good and now we have 3 days of cool weather forecast. Nice!

Missy! Good to see you around here. Can't wait to see pics of Allie Kate! How long are you off of work for maternity leave?

Qod: I'd rather have a short steep hill than a gradual one. Just because i can see the end of it (hopefully) and focus on getting past it!

Missybabe! So happy to see you poke your head in here. Rest well, mama. Looking forward to seeing photos of the future marathoner! :)

By the way, has there been any official talk about a 30's get-together in the spring? I know there was some chatter about a relay thing, but I must admit, I didn't follow it very closely, or see if anything else might be on the calendar.

Oh.. PS question to our mamas and poppas that have used BOB strollers. (or others of the like). Can they actually be taken on a dirt/gravel road for a run? My neighbor is getting antsy to run with her (i think) 5 month old. It's too hot now, as even at 7am, baby Jack would roast in the stroller, but in a month or so, that will change.

My neighbor heard that Bob's can handle trail type stuff, but I wasn't sure if (1) they could at all (2) if they'd hold up worth a flip, or (3) if there would be sufficient shock absorbers for baby Jack! Realistically, we're talking about use on the dirt/gravel road that we live on, and while it's not completely trail-based, it certainly is not a nice and flat surface, by any means.

If anyone has info to pass along, i certainly would appreciate it. I miss my running buddy, dagnabbit!

Morning. Last night went out for a run, did a quick lap around Harriet with a couple of the guys that ran the relay. Decided that was enough and called it a day. Not even three miles. Ha.

My whole body just aches from the race. Crazy.

I'm so excited for the cool weather, I wish I could run farther right now.

Missy - Congrats again! Can't wait to see the pictures.

Ailarie - That's pretty cool...

Ragnar New England - This guy I run with and I really want to do this race. So if there is a group count us in for sure.

QOD - I hate short, steep hills. They hurt too much. At least with the long, gradual climbs you can pace yourself and adjust your effort better. My first leg was pretty much 7.5 miles of gradual uphill. It still hurt. :)

Swim this morning was mucho better! Yeah!
