Where is everyone. Seems like the number of people who post here is getting smaller and smaller all of the time.

I got in 5 miles. My back was a bit sore, but when I stopped and was done it loosened up on the walk home. I am keeping my fingers crossed that it will only get better as the day goes on.

Today I got out there for an easy 4. Super nice weather, 67*. Looks like we're steadily getting warmer towards the weekend though. I told DW that if I don't do very well on Saturday I am really going to look into getting a running coach.

Finally on the mend. It was yesterday afternoon before I actually felt like eating and food was staying in me. Headed out on an easy trot this morning. Opted for the neighborhood route where I could bail just about anywhere. Run didn't feel good, legs tight and flat. But the longer I ran the better I felt. Long 4, just over 8:50pace. I'll take it, although doesn't give me a whole lot of confidence for Sunday.

fuller--people come and go. I don't like to start threads so wait for someone else. Hope your back feels better.

4boysmom - trot is probably the wrong word. It'll take a few days to feel normal. Call it a good taper for your HIM.

BBS - a coach? Nah, just run more... hope the temps don't get too high for the double.

kfuller - yeah, it seems to happen every year, folks just disappear. Alan Fletcher, Nirvana, Tonya to name a few.

Hauled myself out of bed and got out for 10 or so miles. Picked up the pace in the last few miles. Sunrise is pushing closer to 6am... boo! hiss! I just checked the batteries in my headlamp. Had BBS's weather.

I have a race dilemma late in September - a 5k circuit race on Saturday and a hilly HM on Sunday. The 5k is a very fast course but I need a faster run on hills...hmm... Can I do a m-pace run in the HM after an all out 5k?

morning folks - I actually made it before noon. Been a long time since that happened.

4bm - glad to hear you are feeling better & you could put some miles on.

Well, did you know you can't donate blood after running? Yesterday after work went for a 4m run and run felt good. Starting to feel like a runner again but will wait to end of August before I increase the weekly milage. So anyway, ended the run, went home changed shirt and quickly went to local blood drive to donate. They denied me because my pulse was too high (116).... I explanined that's not high & I just ran a couple of miles less than an hour ago. They said too dangerous at that rate and said sorry I wasn't allowed. Talk about embarrassing, walking out the door infront of a bunch of people and having them wonder why I got rejected. Oh well, there loss because my blood is top shelf stuff !!!!

Next time no running prior.

Hey peeps,

No question the forum has gotten smaller. I remember when we used to easily get 40-50 posts a day, now we rarely top 10 in a day.

No workout for me yesterday...unless you count mowing my lawn. I still have a bag packed for a swim that never happened yesterday, and I'm plotting to escape to the pool shortly. Knee gets a little better each day. With a compression sleeve on it doesn't hurt at all...we'll see, I may try to start some light running tomorrow. HM in 3 weeks. Now, that will be interesting.

Hey, I've been denied due to living in England when "Mad Cow" disease was the in thing for the meat industry...

Hello, all.

Kevin -- We're here! Nice five.

BBS -- You tapering? Good job on the four.

4boys -- Glad you're feeling better. Just a few days until the HIM, yes?

RA -- Hmmm. Personally, I wouldn't do it. Too taxing on my old bones. And did the Mad Cow clear up on its own for 'ya?

Apple -- Don't feel bad. You're just too elite to donate. I don't do it either -- makes me sick immediately. Plus, I have tiger's blood. And I'm a warlock.

Hawk -- I count mowing as speedwork. Have a good swim, and good luck with the run.

Me -- 1500 easy yards in the fishbowl yesterday. Will try to get out for 7-8 easy on the run today.

And here's some tri pics from Saturday: http://www.backprint.com/view_user_event.asp?PID=bp%18~D&EVENTID=89874&PWD=&BIB=59

Nice job on all of the workouts today. My back is getting better and I do plan on taking the running easy this week. I do have a 10k on Labor day weekend. I am thinking about doing the first 5k at about 8 minute pace and then seeing how it goes and then do that last 5k all out. Either that or I may just go and have a nice relaxing 10k run.
