Good Morning,

Just a decent run this morning. 5.21 in 50:44 My heart rate jumped to 160 by 3/4 of a mile but then it dropped back down to 150 or so by 1 mile. I have never had that happen before. I wasn't pushing hard at the start.

Good morning. Nice run FB.

8 miles for me. I'm calling the doctor today and getting bloodwork done. I'm feeling completely flat and off my game. Been like this all summer and I think my nutrient levels are out of wack so I want to get them checked.

Jill, I've been feeling similar this summer. I've wondered if it was my thyroid, but suspect it's just the heat and humidity.

My long run on Friday felt good, but Saturday my knee hurt quite a bit. Mr jebba thinks it's tendonitis. Today will be my first attempt at a run since Friday.

I'm really thinking of dropping my time goals for my fall races. I'm just not having fun lately, and I think I need to just run for relaxation for awhile, instead of worrying about the end goal.

Good morning all.

FB - My HR will jump like that from time to time at the start of a run as well.

Jill - Smart to get it checked out. I would suspect it could be the heat and humidity as well.

Jebba - Gotta make it fun. Thats why we do it!

Me - 30 mile group ride this morning. it was good to slow it down versus trying to go all out. I was able to most of the pulling this morning which made for a nice ride.

happy trianing everyone

Nice run FB -- weird about the HR...

Jill sorry you have been feeling flat -- good luck with the dr.

Jebba sorry about the knee -- hope today's run goes well.

Nice ride this morning Dave.

I did another easy 8 miles on the canal path this morning. Legs feeling good.

Jebba I can relate on the goals thing. My only goal for this fall is to pace my brother to a ~4 hour marathon. Feels good not to have any goal races/times and just enjoy running for a change...

Jill- Hope the dr visit goes well

Jebba- I can def. relate to the fall goals.. I'm looking forward to getting all of these 5ks outta the way, then all I'll have left is a marathon in Dec, and its my first, so automatic PR, no stress

Dave- Nice going on the group ride

Loopy- Good going w/ the run, while you were away, I dove into trail running, really into it. Do most of my saturday long runs on trails now

Lil speed session on tap for me today. 5x1K. I'm going at Saturdays race a bit different than normal. After today I am only doing short easy runs. I'm willing to try anything to survive races in this heat.

Morning all,

Wonder if it was a false reading, FB, I have been having all sorts of problems with the Garmin HRM.

Jill - hope you get it figured out, and that your mojo comes back soon.

Jebba - Hope your knee feels better, first priority needs to be feeling good.

Dave - no plane jumps this morning :) nice ride.

Loopy - Good to see things are going well.

BBS - good luck with the 1k's

80 minutes for me on the Elliptical this am with 4 x 7min somewhat hard (replacing a 4 x 1600 track workout). Did 55 easy yesterday. Hamstring has been a little better each morning, and getting it worked on by PT tomorrow.

Morning...

Jill and Jebba - take it from a pro. either thyroid or iron.

FB - Glad you had a decent run. Doesn't sound like it was your usual humid experience.

Dave - Nice ride. What do you mean by pulling.

Loopy - Good to see you edging your way back.

BBS - Sounds like a plan for your race. A 5K taper.

Shooting for R14W1. Last of the walk/run workouts. If I get through the week ok with this workout it's straight to 30 minutes and onward. Blood came back much improved. Still working it's way back up to normal so I have to take it slow adding miles but at least it took a jump. Baring any unforeseen dips I should be back to "normal" within two months.

Morning all,

I'm just finishing up breakfast then it's off to work...morning run is in the books. I did my 7.6 mile "city loop" as a progression run based on HR rather than pace - 130s in the first mile (which ended up being 8:47/mile pace), 160s in the last mile (7:30ish pace)...not too bad on this hilly course in steamy humidity.

Speaking of humidity - Jill - that is probably the culprit. I've been struggling with that too. 2010 has been the year for crazy weather extremes! One thing you could try though...take some B-12 supplements.

FB - my Garmin does that to me sometimes too. I think it has to do with the sensors not being wet yet. It's no big deal, just ignore it.

Nice job this morning everyone, stay cool if you can.

Meaning that I am leading the group, 1st rider, and everyone is drafting off of me. The lead rider works harder than everyone else at the same given speed.

It was a bit on the cool side this morning. I think it was in the high 50's. It was perfect running weather for the morning. I got in 5 miles in 43:52(8:46). The last mile was done in 7:25. My legs were not wanting to move very fast today.

Jill & jebba- I hope you start to feel better soon.

Dan- Congrats on the good report from the doctor.

Nice job on the running and biking to everyone else that got out already.

Busy morning...

So, tempo Tuesday for me. Finished with a total of 11 miles in mid 70 temps and >90% humidity. That was a serious sweatarama! I ran to the gym to meet up with my buddies and then we headed out. 3 miles there + 1 mile group warm up, 5 miles at tempo, then a 2 mile shuffle home. I set the pace and paid the price for jogging past the turnaround while waiting for the rest of the group. They turned and left me behind... I then had to hammer it for 2/3 mile to catch up. My quads are trashed. Splits came out to 6:48, 6:46, 6:45, 6:35, 6:44. Seemed a lot harder than those splits suggest but there were a few slow downs for road crossings + the turnaround jog. 7:47mpm average for the entire run.

Hawk - nice job on the HR run. I should wear mine for recovery runs.

Dan - good to see the blood work improving. Hope the 14/1 goes well.

zrun - What's up with the ellipticalating? Hope the PT can work the kinks out of your hammie.

BBS - enjoy the speedwork (again)

Loopy - back to the steady 8s I see...

Dave - nice ride. You are going to crush that HIM.

Jebba - good plan. Hope the knee feels better.

Jill - hope it's just the H&H. It's a been a real bear here to.

FB - Was there a hot girl running in a bikini?

kfuller - 50s? Nice run.
