Thor, if you join my Reach The Beach team I will buy you a new battery for your bike computer. If anyone is interested we are looking for another runner.

5+ miler from the Y this morning including some hills. Good run and while not as hot as it has been it was still on the warm side. Then went 0-3 in terms of recruiting for RTB.

Another steamy day expected here. So 85min run including 2 sets of 5 hill repeats at 6am. Pretty much the same speed going up the hill as the last week. Though the w/u and c/d run were much slower. Kind of tired, plus humidity even at 6:30am, and I was too lazy to take a bottle (I took a quick glass of water before I left). I am still debating this to be a rest week or not. Maybe the last half of th week since we are heading up North to a cottage. Will see how it goes. less than 3 wks before tapering for Utah!

Stomach has been a mess for the past couple days, and still isn't entirely happy today. I'm at work (took yesterday off) and brought my run gear, but don't know if I'll actually use it.

Lately, yes. But it wasn't always that way. Me saying "busy, so right to it..." is my way of saying that I just don't have time to go back to earlier threads to comment like I usually do -- or, I should say, like I did for the many years in a row when I was NOT too busy. I would always (and I often still do) scour the previous day's daily bread thread to comment or add insight where I thought I could help. But now I have a new role at work, and I am flat out busy (in a very good way), and I find myself with little time at work or even after work for the forum.

And let me tell you. I am absolutely thrilled to be this busy. Especially after the last two years where work got so slow that, well, it was ultimately boring and highly draining. This is a good thing. But honestly, the comment stems from me being far less active on the forum than I used to be.

Nice swim for you!

Pilates tonight. first time body has felt right since right after LP. I hope to be able to do things without too much pain. Dumpster loading etc has really taken a toll on my back, and piilates is probably helping too. I see PT tomorrow to work out what is happening when I run, and hope to be able to get back to real training.. had a bad ride last Friday - odd leg pains so it will be nice to figure out how to fix things before I begin Adam V2.1 - faster, lighter, and able to leap small yard obstacles in a single hop :)

Great workouts everyone!

4-mile trail run. I realized if I hop on the dirt access road behind my neighborhood, and cross one busy street, the trail goes up, up, up into the hills! I came back dusty and happy - nice to get off the pavement. Unfortunately my shoulder and back are still achy from Sunday's fall, so hoping a little advil does the trick.

Solid swim for me today. 2550 yards in total. This is a pretty standard 400 set that I do throughout the year, though I usually do 4. To be down in the very low 5 minute range - almost in the 4s - on semi short rest makes me feel pretty good about how the rest of the season. Until today I'd been swimming these between 5:12-5:20.

Warmup:

-2x250

-5x50

Main Set:

- 3x400 on 6:00 sendoffs (5:06, 5:00, 5:06)

- 100 easy

- 4 x 50 on 60 (low 30s for all)

Cooldown

- 4 x 100

Was supposed to run for 48 min in zn2 this morning. Started out great. Then, I could sense some potential issues. Then, I had to hit the woods. Lots of determination to make it back to the gym...cutting my run 2 min short for 46 min total. WTF bowels? You *never* do this to me! WTF?!?!?

I think I know where you're going! Sorry to hear you had a bad ride. Hope you can get stuff figured out and fixed so that Adam V2.1 can join me for some "sufferfest" loops out at Wachusett! (or, run at Devil's Chase 2010, at least)

Beth - what a cutie!

Jen - isn't trail much more fun?! Love getting dirty.

Ended up riding 2hrs solid. And that was several hours after donating blood (my blood iron level is up and they accepted my blood!). I was curious about the effect, after losing approx. 15% (!) of my estimated blood volume. I did fine during the ride, though I felt really weak afterwards. I wonder if this lower blood volume (= less oxgen intake due to lower amount of red cell?) causes somewhat similar effect as racing at higher altitude would cause. I am just not sure what it is like riding at 6000ft altitude......

Wow Yoshiko - 2 hour ride after donating blood? You are a warrior! Glad you're iron levels are normal.

Ended up with a 3.5 mile recovery run with the stroller. Walked up a couple of hills because of the heat and well the stroller gets heavier each day!!
