Good morning, TEAM LIT!

Busy for me so right to it...

5.65 mile run early this morning with the usuals. Saw four Garbage Truck Racers. One tooted his horn to my fist pumps, as he does each week... it's our little game. Kind of fun.

Followed immediately by...

16 mile ride. Avg'd 21.5+ mph. Passed a guy who looked to be strong. He hopped on my wheel for a bit and then tried to take a pull. I gave him some time before coming around and leading again. Then he turned off in another direction. Good hard ride.

Great day, Tri-peeps!

Solid and consistent Thor. I know you're not racing tris right now, but if you do decide to pick them up again you'll be able to jump right back into it. Consistency is the key.

8.3 mi on the treadmill this morning in an hour. 1 mi warmup, 2.5 mi build to half-marathon pace (5:49 min/mi), 1 mi recovery, 2 mi build to half-marathon pace, 1.8 mi cool-down.

Have a great one everybody!

Absolutely. I love my little bike rides. I love feeling of going fast. So although it is something I enjoy over a manageable time, I also try to get at least one ride per week, ideally 2, and sometimes three, with the notion of retaining most of what I have so that I can resume when I want. My plan had me taking this year off of triatlhon, only that plan was accelerated early last season when I got the pinched nerve. Either way, thanks for the comments. And you are so very right... consistency is key!!!

And hey, nice TM session. You know, I kind of miss the TM. I really do. But I will wait until winter to pick it back up again. I'm lucky in that I can afford to be on the roads far more than you. But you get that fine-tuned running, which is nice.

Thor - I am sure the garbage truck driver finds the race against you fun! Love the sense of 'community' and 'connection to the people'.

7mile run this morning to avoid 90+F heat forecasted mid-day. Judging how tired/sluggish I felt plus the high humidity during the opening mile, I surprised myself with a solid cruise intervals at 7-7:15pace, totaling 25min hard run. Good stuff. May swim later during DS's martial arts class, or may not.

After a looooong vacation sandwiched between 2 very looooong drives I am glad to be home. Managed to get in 3 short runs while I was away; it was nice to be in a cooler climate. Now back to the heat and humidity.

A day full of grocery shopping...how exciting!

Back to the dance studio tonight. I CAN'T WAIT!!!!

Thor- Funny you say that about missing the TM. I too am missing it. Maybe I ought to get on it since it's in my house. I could always work on some heat training.

Today I have 1:30:00 on the bike with 5 x 5 min. hilll repeats.

Hello everyone!! I haven't been posting much, I've been out and about a lot. Resigned from my job last Monday, Friday is my last day HOWEVER as a sales rep, I am basically playing hookey and taking the Blackberry with me everywhere. New job starts Monday and I am very excited about it!

So, today was a nice hard effort 13 mile hilly route. I've been "coaching" 2 of my friends on the bike the last month or so, it's really fun to see them improve and know I had something to do with it!

Hi Julie!! Congrats on the new job!

Another rest day for me, and not a stitch of guilt about it. I'm still pretty tired. Will try to get some race reports going today, I'm way behind.

Congrats on the new job, Julie - glad you aren't working too hard now since you don't have much of a break in between.

Nice workouts everyone - sounds like some solid running and biking going on. Thor, you are staying so strong on the bike, that's awesome. After about a year hiatus, Matt rode with some friends last night - hilly but very leisurely pace and his legs were cooked this morning. Hard to believe where we were fitness wise for Lake Placid and hope to see that again!

2000-meter swim fir me. Straight with every 3rd 100 hard. Felt awesome in the water even though it's still a pretty slow pace. Will have to clock some intervals soon to find out just how slow.

Yesterday was a 4-mile run with the stroller. Tweaked my ankle on vacation and it's bugging me a little. Hopefully it's nothing.

Happy workouts everyone!

Son1 and I rode the Buckeye Challenge route this morning. Certainly feeling the race from Sunday! Can't say I exactly "owned" the hill into Catawba, but we're certainly on a "rent to own" basis. Weather was great--upper 70's and overcast. Few spots of rain, but of course the sky opened up for our last 2miles. 54miles, negative split second loop.

Congrats on the new job Julie! [thumbs up]

Today

AM - 3,000m in the pool - 500m warm up, 4 x 100 drills, 4 x 200 @20 sec, 6 x 100m @15 sec, 8 x 50 drills, 300m cool down

I felt pretty good, definitely pushed hard on the 200s and 100s, my splits showed it. I was ready to get out of the water though.

PM - 6.3 mile run, ~53 minutes (8:20/mile), at 15 minutes, insert 2 x 6 minutes Z4 @2 min job. It was supposed to be an hour run, but had to cut it short because of a 1:30pm meeting (damn that work getting in the way). Pace slowed a lot the last two miles, my running partner was dealing with cramps and we had to walk for about 200 yards. No worries, I welcomed the respite.

Have a glorious day everyone!!!

Very glad my house is not on Thor's Tuesday morning running route. Garbage truck horns early in the morning if I was home would not be good. Julie, good luck on the new job.

Early morning run from the Y today. met running buddy on the roads and we did our regular loop. At the end of the run I added 2 high school hills followed by 1 lap pickup on the track. Then did some sprints starting at 50 yards jog back to the end zone and going to 40 and so on. Felt tired but great when it was done.

The south is sweltering, that's for sure!!!

Supposedly, (according to the radio ) it was "feels like 125 degrees" down in Mobile yesterday. ugh!

4 miles this morning, not quite as bad as previous days, but as the day went on, the hot hit us hard.

Then, working with Lisa on TRX. Turns out, I have freakishly short arms, and terribly weak legs. I can't get up from a seated position on one leg....Lisa, on the other hand, can hop up like it's nothing. She's gloating about that. grrrr.

Then, after work, bought one more quart of paint (white) for ceiling and trim correction.

The drop cloths are up, the switch plates are reinstalled.....

the room is ready for furniture.

Yayayayay.
