Good morning, TEAM LIT!

All: Thanks for the concern and good words over my knee. As an update, the knee, as I had hoped, is starting to response positively. It still is down for the count, but it turned a corner of sorts toward healing. I suppose there will be several more "corners" to turn, but this is good, and it's in line with how my body typically responds to the more serious issues, where it takes three to four days before kicking on the healing engine. And that's where I'm at now. I can walk better, climb stairs better, etc. Been doing steady treatment of RICE. Will give it a long day before calling a doctor. Good news is that with this recent uptick in stability, I am pretty darn sure I did not tear any of the CL's. I still may have damage something related, but more like I tore or damaged the meniscus. In any event, thanks for the good words.

I also kept the streak alive this morning. Details aren't important. And no, I would not do anything to further the injury.

Great day, Tri-peeps!

Good morning!

Swim done this morning. Tough swim since I did an hour of strength class last night. Not one of my prettiest efforts, and the water aerobics class seriously interfered with the comfort in the lanes. I like my space. :)

Short run this evening.

Thor - I know you don't know me, but seeing your doctor (hopefully one with an understanding of sports medicine) at this point won't change anything... but it may get you a diagnosis and a treeatment plan sooner. If it is the meniscus then based on where the tear is, it may not heal on its own. If it is a ligament, then it more than likely not heal on its own.

Thor - good to hear something positive from you!

Me - my legs are tired after yesterday's double...how do I respond? With more dance class tonight of course. :)

I doubt I'll get anything in today. I have to work late, so I won't be home until late. On top of that, my back is a mess from pilates and the weekend dumpster work. Sigh..

6 mile run this morning. I'm really starting to love these pre-dawn runs out in the country away from all the lights (not that a town of 400 produces much light as it is). The stars are so clear and it's so peaceful.

Core later today, then dinner at The Ribeye for DW's birthday.

Great workouts to all!

Thor - Glad you've managed to keep the streak alive during this, and I hope it turns out to just be a pulled ligament or something.

Just realized I never posted in yesterday's daily - 4 mile recovery run and a short swim after dinner. Today it's a bike commute home from work, FIB a 5-7 mile run.

Thor, glad to hear you are getting better and the streak lives on for another day.

Not a good day for me. Planned on running this morning from the Y. But when I showed up there was nobody working the fitness center. I will usually get things going if the person is late so I did that. No one showed up by the time I needed to leave for the run so I went outside, met me running buddy and told her I was out. I would not have felt right leaving without someone up there. Called the person a little while later and he had screwed up his alarm. So bottom line, no workout but I am okay with the reason.

TEAM LIT: Thanks again for the healing words on my knee. Sorry about you having to miss the workout there, Rog. Hate when things like that happen.

Since this morning, when the knee was already feeling better than the day's before, the knee is feeling even better and getting stronger and far more stable. I am hopeful that there is no crazy bad damage and that the healing continues. Thanks again.

Paging Alaska Mike... dude, check in here so that I know you're good (re: recent news item).

9 mile run. Phew hot and humid. Yesterday was 5mile run, totally dead at the beginning but came alive by the turnaround. With DH and DS out of town for camping and me just running, no juggling. I'm lovin' it.

Hot and humid seems to be the general consensus here tody...and so it is in Central New Jersey as well.

Lunchtime: 7.2 miles, 1:00:05, HR 155 average - at :20, 5 x 3 minutes in Zone 4 with 1 minute recovery jog. It was a tough one out there today, so hot and so humid. I just stopped sweating about 5 minutes ago (45 minutes after I finished my run).

After work: 3,000yd swim at Fanny Chapman (outdoor pool); however if we get a thunderstorm around 4PM, it will be 3.000m at my gym's pool (ugh).

Stay hydrated everyone!

NICE JOB CAKE!

1 hour ride later, not sure if it's going to be a threshold ride or basic Zn 2 stuff...

Yesterday was going to be a 45 min trail run, but was cut short as I got bit by a dog on my upper right arm. Broke the skin, major bruising, but no stitches. Tetanus shot hurts more than the bite does right about now.

Thor - take care of that knee!
Bit by a dog? Geez, that really sucks. I guess you should be happy it wasn't a wolf or coyote, eh? I agree that the tetanus shot would be far worse than the actual bit.
