Morning all!! Today is the first day of my hell week and of couse I've been up since 310 with sinus trouble. Thank God for Claritan. I'm hoping for a very uneventful week at work and a very Eventful week at the Dairy Expo. Today's trip over is going to be interesting because Obama is speaking on Campus and his route is the same as mine. 
 
QOD what's your favorite part of fall?

QOD - can not pick one thing. It is my favorite time of year. Cooler temps. Beautiful foliage. The smell of fallen leaves. Pumpkin beers. My birthday. My anniversary. Hockey season starts.

Busy day at work, too much to do and not enough time to do it. Our new lab associate officially joined us yesterday. So I am trying to help her settle in while still getting my work done, won't all happen but oh well!!
 
QOD: Currently my fav thing about fall is Litch's pic!! Beautiful!!! And I agree with him, not one single thing stands out, love it all!! The smells, the sights, all the yumminess made from pumpkin, it's all good baby!

yes! Everything about this post. I've never had a pumpkin beer and I am suddenly jonesing for one in the worst way!

I still have not come down with a full fledged cold. It's just on the fringes, which is just annoying - either hit me or go away. <sigh> I'm still trying to beat it. More rest more better. Early bedtimes all week.

Not as much fun as I'd like around here these days. I was off sick yesterday. Stupid cold. 
 
And my mom's purse was stolen on the weekend. She'd just gotten back from her trip to NH and was unpacking some stuff at my sister's place. While she was doing that, someone took the purse right out of her truck. Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrr. Then proceeded to rack up hundreds of dollars worth of purchases with her credit card. They also got all the cash that was in there. And mom's passport. And various other personal items, like wedding pics and pics of us kids. Mom just got that purse as a birthday gift, too. She's heartbroken about the whole thing. A bit of good news, though. My sisters were able to find out who took it and they're hot on the trail. I hope they can get the personal items back, at least.
 
Oh, and my father in law had to go to the ER the other night because we thought he was having a heart attack or something. Luckily it was only vertigo but it was still a scare.
 
My least favourite part of fall...closing the pool. We did that on the weekend. *sigh* Can't really think of anything good at this point. I'm a summer girl. Not a big fan of the cold weather.

Priming door and window trim today. wooopee. Ok, so I know you normally figure out how much paint you need by figuring the area of your walls, but my walls are mostly doors or cupboards. I guess I could measure each little bit, but.... isn't there an easier way?

morning peeps.
 
off night of sleep last night, fell asleep, then woke up to a phone call (expected). When I got off the phone, my eyes were itchy, the dog was spooning me <img alt="" src="http://files.kickrunners.com/smilies/roll_eyes.gif" title=""> and the cat was on the other side and I was too warm but couldn't shove off the covers, and I was just AWAKE. Not for too long, but long enough. Meh.
 
I read for a few minutes and was able to go to sleep around 1...and did NOT want to get up this morning.

QOD: fall's not my favorite season either, like Clare. Cooler sleeping weather, and making stews and chili, and transitioning into warmer clothes are ok with me.

Kath - poor Jackjack! I know you said that your dogs don't get people food, but that's GOTTA be a heavenly smell for Jack since his nose is so much more sensitive than a human nose!
 
Beakerbabe - So glad that attempt 2 at the big-boy bed went over well! 
 
Clarebear: Bummer about mom's purse being stolen!. Hopefully you guys can get some of the stuff back since you know who took it in the first place.

QOD - Fall is my favorite season! I always think of it as my new year, being on an academic schedule. I love taking walks with the dogs and DH at night and shuffling through the leaves - crunch, crunch, crunch. And smelling the wood stoves. Watching football - NFL, local college, HS and DS's team. DD horseback riding among the gorgeous foliage - I wished I had my camera yesterday! Closing camp - although it is the most beautiful time of year up there, we aren't able to enjoy it much with no winterizing. But I am thinking of making chili up there next weekend and watching FB.
 
Yay for new homes, big boy beds and tights with peep toes! (a big no for strappy open toes with tights or nylons - I just can't do it)

Fall: I love late September and October, the weather here is gorgeous as are the leaves. Once everything is all brown and it gets colder and more winter-like, it loses its appeal. I am happy that the cooler temps are here, this summer was just awful in terms of heat and humidity. I love college football, apple cider, homemade soups, and the energy on campus.
