Good Morning!

Hi everyone

I'm still training and logging points on VRAA but not so involved in the banter, not sure everyone really gets my British sense of humour.

MrsG is still up and down and it is getting her down. Mad thing is when brilliant she can train well and win races but when tired and in pain she is like a 110 year old.

Feel a little bit of the pace in here as I'm not managing to contribute and read back that well so then feel bad talking about my life and training.

I'm still doing a lot but 11 days out from my big event MrsG being ill and MiniG coming to visit are ensuring that I take more rest. I guess I should thank them really.

Take care out there

Hey Pink one and Gobi. I deleted the thread Gobi, but I can still see it. Guess that's my admin superpowers at work :)

Good for your loved ones reigning you in Gobes, I think you need that in your life lest you train obsessively and get hurt.

Nice no watch Pink! Back to the days before all the danged gadgets.

30 min elliptical, loving the coolness and the much much needed rain. But hope it clears for the weekend.

My gadget said I started on top of the hill across the highway instead of in front of my house. I covered the first 400m in 23 seconds. Sweet.

Good morning,

Rest day for me. Busy at work - the door alarm is broken and all he** is breaking loose. I think a staff member came into the building after hours and have to review the video tapes to determine who it is. I think it's going to be one of those days. But at least it's cooler here and we're getting some rain, which we really need.

Enjoy your day all and run a few miles for me.

A quick trip to my State's capital for meetings all day today, then drive back the 5 hours home tonight since I have to be at work tomorrow. Sorry I could not see Dove in this trip.
TomWhite, my gym is actually closing this winter and will be opening a new gym with a pool and I hope to do some poolrunning. Any suggestions for information about how to do a pool running program, including equipment needed - other than a swimsuit and goggles?

Thanks,

gobi, I know how you feel about not getting the british sense of humour. . . sometimes I fear people don't get my blonde sense of humour . . . or maybe that's just me that doesn't get my humour . . .

After a long 5 day wknd, I'm back at work. Had to take an unexpected additional day off yesterday as my car had to go to the shop and I was w/o transportation. Something was wrong that my DH couldn't get to on my car w/o a lift. just got the bad news that it's a $1300 repair and that's WITH giving DH a business discount of just wholesale price on the parts. He's bummed that it's not a repair he is able to do (no lift and needs special fixing tools he doesn't have) and that we have to pay that kind of money for someone else to fix my car when he's a mechanic. But it is what it is and I need my car, so be it. . . {sigh} . . .

I finally have summaries written over on the weekly. thanks for your patience!

Feel better, MrsGobi.

I am seriously envious of those of you with cooler weather. My first taste of it will probably be when I arrive at TCM.

I washed my bloody running shoes yesterday and they came out looking pretty good! I might just wash all my other pairs and freshen them up as well. Thanks to Dove, KS, and Ribs for the "how to's". (No great mystery really - I just never had done them before.)

My ankle/achilles is hanging in there. It feels okay really, I can just tell it's not quite right. Tomorrow I'll be doing some Tinman Tempos inside a 10 to 13 mile MLR so that should be a good test. I wish I wasn't so concerned with the ankle 'cause I really feel like my conditioning is coming around.

In other news my DS got a perfect 800 score on the Math portion of the GRE (grad school entrance test).

OM - your recent mileage speaks volumes. No need to elaborate (although I'd love to hear more about it.) I'm so excited for you, and just hope you don't ramp up too much too quickly.

I managed 8 miles myself today, in light drizzle. Tempo effort for 6 miles, 8:11 overall pace. My legs felt fried afterwards. But the good news is that I've been pain free for 2 weeks. I think the worst is over. May go for a 10'er on Fri.

Millbot and Mariposai, my gadget often tells me my house is a higher elevation when I get home. Tamster, sorry to hear that about the car. I managed to replace the rear turn signal bulbs recently and that's about the extent of what I can fix these days. Speaking of a fix, I had an awesome 3-mile treadmill run today. Yes, such a thing is possible. Brooke said to run this week on the treadmill because it should give my calf and heel a break, but now, hours later, I'm not so sure. I will be rubbing my calf and heel on and off the rest of the day.

Working at the election board today and we're on a break. It's so nice to get out of the office!

Blimey Tom - some night

Pink - no watch, I can't do it :¬)

Tammy - car repairs are never a good thing but feel your frustration as a mate his a mechanic and does "most" of the work on our cars.

Its OK, I'm in Vegas my dear Butterfly. Hopefully we'll see each other soon.

I'm working on that race report. My iPad is a little inadequate when it comes to adding photos, and this report requires photos! I'll finish it up when I get home.

this statement deserves a quote. I'm not sure if I should laugh, be concerned about Gobi's mental health, or a bit of both.
