Morning all.

Erika - I don't know what to expect at OKC this weekend. I'm pretty fit but don't feel fast. The race has grown to 22K between the half and full. My age group ran only a 3:22 last year to win but conditions can be hot and windy at this race. I certainly want to run faster than that.

Opie - you still running the relay. I see you've kicked your boot.

Hi Heme and Happyfeat

Johnny - how goes it?

8 miles this morning. 4 ez; 2 X 1 mile at 5k pace with 1 mile ez between, and 1 mile cool down. 1:03 total time. Already 80 degrees and high humidity. Wind is only a breeze this morning. This has been the windiest spring I can remember in the 7 years I've lived here. jtwili :)

What's up irun and Rip and Gobi and who else is left.................?

John, good luck this weekend. I hope the weather is in your favor.

Opie, was so happy to read that you graduated! no soreness after your 3/4 mi run last night?

Johnny, how you doing today?

not much happening here I guess. I went on an overnight field trip with my son's 5th grade class last Thurs/Fri and then Saturday was busy with my sons football game in the late morning, and then I got in an 18.5 mile run inthe afternoon. mostly in the rain, which would normally have me grumbling the whole way, but even in shorts and short sleeved I wasn't too cold, and my run actually felt great right up to the end, like I could have kept running. Sunday was nice with Easter brunch at my parents.

It's looking to be a good day here - sunny, mild - dare I say "spring-like???" . . . it'll be a RAW today.

Hi all

congrats on your gradiation Opie...

Nah HappyFeat....acceptance isn't in my vocabulary. I'm still fighting battles any sensible person would of given up on years ago.......Not much goin' on with me. Got some work, so I'm staying out of trouble.......At the request of my buddy who died a few months back, I'm scattering his ashes in a couple of weeks. It involves a 20 mile RT hike with a backpack & overnight gear. Have a relatively small window of time to accomplish this, between snow melt and 100°F plus summer temps. Don't want to do any more damage to my foot that may jeopordize my ability to carry out his wishes, so I'll wait til afterwards to try running again.

GL at OK ksrunr....probable podium finish for you.

good running to all (who're able)

Tom - I don't know how to answer your question. I think only you can. But my training always has "a recovery type day(s)" after the hard workouts. I suppose you need to determine which workouts are your hard ones. The rest is suppose to get you ready for a second hard workout in the week. I run 6 days a week and I almost always take Sunday off for a variety of reasons.

Johnny - you're a good guy for what you're doing for your friend.

Maybe flip the last two days? So you'd rest on Thursday and run on Friday. Any problems doing the poolrun/yardwork combo after running?

Excellent 6, Baba!!

Nice thing to do for your friend, Johnny! And probably a good thing to do for your foot, too. No point pushing it before then.

What OM said, TW.......

Tamster, I can only hope I'll still feel like running after 18.5. So far, not so much. Nice run!

Hi KS!

My gardening week off is turning into a dodge the rain drops week, so with forecast predicting thunderstorms, decided today to head into work for a surprise 50th birthday celebration for our fitness manager. She's an absolutely wonderful woman who has done oh so much for the employees..... we organized food, gift, decorations and a 40 person flash-mob to crash a personal training session set up for the company lawyer (AKA co-conspirator). She was thrilled to say the least. I stayed a the gym to run 6 ez recovery miles on the TM before heading home.

Sorry I flit in and out here, but I am working on a more regular lifestyle so I can post more consistantly. But I do have good news today - I managed my longest continuous run to date, with an evening run of 7.3 Km, to the Parque which is 3 Km from my home, and then a lap of the parque before heading back the reverse route, (completed in 1 second under 40 minutes - sub 5:30 pace).

I have managed a longer run with the Hash, but as that is broken up into segements, I see this as a proper step in the right direction, and I may be tempted to have a go at a 10K being run here on Sunday coming, as a warm up for my Home 10K at the end of next month - See how I feel in the morning.

Good running to everyone else, and I will now go and read teh last few days lot of posts :)...

Great runs Liam and Baba.

Give whatever you decide a try TW. You can always change if it doesn't work.

You will do fine for your friend Johnny. I would rather wait for an event to give it a try than try a test that

may not go so well. (Kind of like running a 20k trail race this weekend after what will be 10 days off running)

You're always speedy KS!!

Xtraining today consisted of 2 hours of walking.......listening to music..........pushing a mower.

Not quite as good as treadmill running........listening to music...........watching tv, but it will have to do.

Heme, Your weather is my weather lately. Finished my soffit repair between raindrops this morning before

I got the mowing done.

Hello everyone - Ran a short 3 miles tonight as planned.

Johnny - that's a touching gesture for your friend. I'm sorry for your loss.

Rip - glad you got your soffit repairwork done. Now if I could just get some soffits installed, I'd be set!

Happy for Baba's 6-miler

Very nice running. Tamster, running in the rain? I'm shocked. Yes, my foot feels fine. Had a perfect little run about a mile & a quarter in the neighborhood. KS, I'm still on my relay team. That stupid captain didn't kick me off. :) The doc approved, though. Hope to meet up with you and the missus.
