I hope all from VT or friends and family of people there find someway to make it through today.

Well sorry to keep ya hanging last night but I doubt anyone was on late enough to see what I said anyways. Things went incredibly well besides my unplanned race. Someone was gone so I got thrown into the 4x8...ugh...and ran my leg in 2:18. Not bad but not really great.

Well then 3 events later I was in the mile and feeling still quite worn out from the 800 ran a pretty decent mile. 1:15, 1:19, 1:17, and 1:16 or something very close to that for a 5:07 and a new mile PR by 11 seconds.

The big event for me that I was actually pretty rested for was the 2 mile. The guy who beat me by a little bit was talking to me and said he hoped to run close to 11 so I thought I'd stay with him. Well first lap was right on schedule and I found myself in 4th place. It was really comfortable but the leader and kid I planned on following were pulling away. 1:22. Next lap I started squeezing it down and trying to catch up and moved to 3rd. 1:26. Uh oh, this isn't picking it up. Okay same thing for the next 2 laps and I'm finally on this kid. 1:22, 1:21. 5:31 for the mile split. Now I'm running about 10 feet in front of this kid and he seems to be holding steady. Lucky for him he was at a home meet so about every 10 seconds he'd have someone cheering him on. Me...I had about 3 spots around the track where I heard nice job and so on. He clung on for about a lap and a half. Those 2 laps in 1:21, 1:22. My XC Coach is always there giving me splits and he says I really gapped the kid by now but first place is way off in the distance, about 100m ahead. He says just run for time now...boy am I tired. I work on my form and my arms are tightening up, but I realize I'm on pace for a great time so I keep trying to reel in that first place guy. Not happening but still a nice lap. 1:22...somehow I still have energy left and finish strong about 11 seconds behind first place in 10:57 with a last lap of 1:17. A huge PR for me but the thing is...I never ran this event competetively all of track. So I guess it was an almost guaranteed PR. Cool thing is...I didn't feel ideal last night and I still got a few weeks of good training so I'm hoping for some more drops still.

Sorry for the longness...I am just really proud of myself.

Have a good day and God bless!
