WAKE UP EVERYONE!

It is starting to get a little warm here...63F at the start this morning.
I had to drag myself up and out today as I just didni't feel like running this morning.

6.51 miles of hills @ 9:19 pace.. It was a lethargic run for me but as it turned out I ran all negative splits with the last mile @ 8:26 pace.

Good runs to all today.

Real easy recovery 6 miler this morning in an hour with the local clubbers.

I ran easy with my clone who's running the "Fool's 50" in a couple of weeks. (I'm sure it's not named after anyone I know.) It's a trail race of 1, 2 or 3 laps covering 25K (15+ miles), 50K (31 miles), or 50 miles. He's doing the 50K, 2 laps. He's going to do well in his AG - he's in great shape right now.

Bit more in the relay thread, once the whole season of 24 is complete...

Back still aches a little today.... but legs and everything else are great. Went for 8.2 miles with the first 2.2 with Tory and then picked up the pace to mid to low 8's which felt great to just run without being winded!!

8.2 mi in 1:11:24 (8:42 pace, AHR 155)

Have great runs and w/o's!
After feeling soreness/tightness in my leg when running yesterday, I just did weights this morning at the rec center. As a general self-evaluation, I got onto the hamstring curl machine (one where you lie prone and lift a bar with your ankles) and tried it with both legs and then one-legged. Nada -- no pain at all in the left leg, even with a decent weight selected. And I think this is purely a hamstring exercise. Not sure what this result means, but I'm anxious to run again tomorrow and see how it works.

Back in winter, 25F and windy. This must be what it feels like to go to the moon and back.

6 easy-paced miles on glazed paths along the river.

Take good care of that leg, roch, sounds like you've almost turned the corner.

Good Morning Masters,

Now this is what I'm talkin' about: 52 degrees with just a little wind. That put some sproink in the run this morning. Wore shorts and just a l/s shirt - which after a while I'd wished was s/s.

10 delightful miles, 1: 23:36, 8:22 pace, one pair muddy, sweaty, gorgeous legs.

Good runs all,
nice runs all!

12 miles at a nice, consistent pace. Amazing what warmer temps ( 50 degrees! ) and less clothing will do!

Only got to read a bit of the relay adventures. Will have more time later. Sounds like such a great experience!

Hey Pink, your pace seems to be fine. Any chance of re-thinking Danbury?

This statement is useless without a photo.

I traded last night's run for a big piece of chocolate cake ala mode and I still have eater's remorse. I blame MrC who was supposed to get home early to run with me but ended up being rather late. Darn men.

Taking my student workers to lunch today so will miss Pilates but will still get in yoga and some extra stuff later on.

Good Morning Masters!
I'm enjoying reading the reports so far of the relay and the pics and video are GREAT! Can't wait to read more as the reports trickle in.

DH leaves this a.m. for So Cal for a week, so I need to figure out my running this week. I know I'll hit the gym at lunch today for a 4 mile run. Tomorrow is supposed to be my mid week longer run (7 on the schedule) and I just don't see how that'll happen. I do have Friday off though, so will probably have to move a longer run to Friday and then do my longest run of the week on Saturday. Probably not the best idea to do two long back to back, but if I take my Friday long run at an easy/slow pace, I think I'll be okay for Saturday.

Have a good day Masters.

Hey neat, look at all the 6-mile runs today.

roch, good news!

Opie, no worries. Thanks to you and everyone else who has responded.

Tamster, aren't you on week 9, with a 7-mile midweek run and an 11-mile weekend run? I'm sure you can handle that.

Watch the back-to-back LRs, Tam.

As a fellow "I have no idea how this will all fit" person, I know how hard it is to make it fit. Can you get a friend to provide some childcare help while you get the run in? Arrange a long lunch? I'm concerned that you'll get hurt and miss the benefit of the mid-week MLR and then run your LR tired. Recovery is important.

Sal, your schedule makes my brain hurt!

Thanks so much for the feedback on my training. Yes, Mill, I'm in week 9 right now (and I'm following Higdon's Novice II plan Cheryl), so this is a cut back week anyways. I'm supposed to do 4(tues), 7(wed), 4(thur), 11(sat), BUT I have been running Tues, Wed, Fri and Saturdays during this schedule because both Tues & Fri I can lunchtime runs at the gym and shower and get back to work. So Wed is my only evening at the gym. However, this week, my son has his last basketball game tomorrow night, so that's out. I'm taking Friday off work and while he's at school, I'm going for a run with my friend, Amy. And then Saturday, my son will be at my parents all day and I can run then too. SOOOO, my plan this week is that I can really only fit 3 days of running in, so I figured if I missed one of my short runs, it's not that big of a deal. I think I have a good enough base built right now, that missing a shorter run shouldn't affect me one way or another. The plan is 4 today, 8 on Friday, and 12 on Saturday. So adding an extra mile to each of those longer runs to sort of make up a little for missing a 4 mile run, yet still have it be a cut back week for me.

7.13 miles today, with a bunch of hill repeats in the middle of it. This will be my 3rd week of 50+ miles in a row...and I'm still weirdly feeling terrific. I keep waiting for the other shoe to drop.

Off to read the relay shenanigans!

Good Morning Kicksters from the Missoula International Airport, where I am Kay and I are having a Chefs Salad in the wifi enabled restaraunt. High speed is such a treat. Kay is excited to see her daughter in Los Vegas in a little while and I am planning my next unencumbered run. (well after I play on the high speed thing). Why did I wait so long to get a laptop with wifi?

Mustang great calender, but I like to keep mine empty. I will be going into totally irresponsable mode here in about an hour. How do I handle this? I havn't had a break like this in 4 years.

Morning all,

ksrunr is not running a step 'till Thursday and that will be easy! He is in recovery mode.

Just wanted to say hello and am enjoying today's thread as well as the relay reports which seem to be coming in in relay form.

Larry, I hope you really get a chance to unwind and find some peace during your "vacation".

Did you see the Jayhawks last night?
