Good morning!

No time for responses last night, as Monday is class till 10pm day. Some great workouts yesterday overall. Alex great job on those 1k repeats. Dave, nice swim this morning.

Spring is in the air here in NY I was told to stay on the treadmill for the first few weeks back to avoid the risk of re-rolling my ankle, but with the temps close to 60 yesterday I HAD to go out for a little stroll. I promised myself I'd go nice and easy. Wound up running from school to my apt and back which mapped out to 3.82 in 31:26 (8:13 pace)! I guess I'm not that out of shape afterall-- pace felt way easy and I've been keeping it to 9mpm on the TM. I'm going to be running a big 5K at the end of this month as my first run back from injury (Suffolk County 5k/Half Marathon on 3/30).

Run/Swim/Bike/Walk Strong everyone!

Hiya Tonya! I see you down there.

Nice recovery run tonight...gonna be pretty chilly again I guess, but hopefully sunny enough to melt the rest of the ice. Also supposed to get another inch or so of snow tomorrow so I'm not sure I'll ever get to use the track. Someday soon hopefully.

Good swim this morning Dave.

Awesome run yesterday Liz. But don't get too used to that warm weather. We got a few days of it here in Ohio, and we're back to Winter...

Enjoy the recovery Alex.

Yesterday's run kinda sucked. Just couldn't get my breathing on or something. Got my 10 in @ 9mpm but it was definitely more of a struggle than it should have been. We'll see how tonight goes, but either way, I'm planning on going a little easy on Wednesday and Thursday to gear up for the next round of VRAA.

Forced day off for me Came down with a stomach bug yesterday, which completely wiped me out. The worst seems to be over, but now I am as weak as a kitten. Hopefully will be feeling better once I get some food and fluids in me...

It is because of these kinds of statements that I remind myself every day how lucky I really am. Phillip would do nothing to stop me from running. Unless we have something going on to which we have a commitment, he doesn't ever mind if I am out running, and will even ask if I'm going to run, or do the elliptical machine, or what have you. I wish that everyone's significant other was as supportive to them as he is to me, because I know what that is like, not having that kind of support. My family was very unsupportive of me for probably the first 8 years of my healthy, running life, and I once dated a guy who broke up with me because, I "placed running over him."

Ah, the old "you love running (and swimming and bicycling...) more than you love me". Yah, we just had that fight Sunday night. Ironically, I'm the one bugging him to go to the gym!

Okay run for me this morning. Out at 6am. It was dark and rainy. Although, it was quite enjoyable! WU 15min, 3x6min z4 with 2min recovery, then steady. Run felt good, but I didn't run it quite hard enough. 7.16m, 1:01:58, 8:39pace

Quick shower, then took son to the doctor. I swear this kid's bones are made of titanium. His thumb is NOT broken. He did injure the growth plate and tore some muscle. As long as he doesn't reinjure it in the next two weeks, he should be fine.

Good morning all -

me too Baba, I will have to waste the weather also. hubby is very sick and I needed to take his mom to dialisys since he was too sick. my day started at 5:30 am and that was without run time. Will have to run inside at lunch on the TM. Plan on 5m.

Catch all later.

I have 10*400s on deck today. Should be a mix of 1:25s and 1:22s. I was going to swap in 800s but they can wait until next week.

what's that about Brett Farve retiring and Phil and Tonya breaking up because Tonya thinks he runs too much? What a crazy world.

Well, my six turned into 4. Just didn't have it this morning. Legs were just dead after 3. I'll make up a couple during the week.

A good day to all.

Hello everyone,

Today was my big tempo workout. The plan called for:

1 mile warmup
2 miles at marathon goal pace (9:00)
3x2 miles at tempo pace (8:36), with 2:00 recoveries
3 miles at goal pace
cooldown

So...in order to get it in I was on the road at 5:30am...blech. Traffic seemed worse today, and I had to fight some traffic lights and such, so my times are a bit skewed...but here is how it turned out:

1 mile warmup: 10:45
2 miles MGP: 9:10, 9:11
3x2 miles Tempo: 8:39, 8:26 (2:00), 8:27, 8:21 (2:00), 8:30, 8:35 (2:00)
3 miles MGP: 9:01, 9:30*, 8:42
.55 miles cooldown: 10:23 pace

*had a long traffic light on that one, but overall I hit my times pretty close. First three miles are down hill - last three miles are uphill...so I'm glad I could maintain the right pace...but I'm definitely done for the day....whew!

Total Miles: 13.05. No water or food before or during...that should probably change.

Ok everyone have a great day!
You should get her to! That would be great for the two of you...it has been so much fun for Phillip and I to run together. Not that we do it all the time, but we have been in quite a few of the same races, and it's something special when you have someone there with you to talk about the race, and to experience the thrill of the award.
