Well it's 11:57 pm and it's close enough. I got in late from the NIT basketball game tonight between Ole Miss and Nebraska. I got to sit at the scorers table with the radio crew again. I loved it. I feel very blessed to be able to have such close ties to our college's radio crew. Tonight was a bit of a treat as I met Tubby Smith. He was the former Kentucky coach and now is the coach at Minnesota. One of his sons plays for Ole Miss. During halftime I got to go fetch Tubby out of the high dollar seats and see if he wanted to be interviewed at half time. Another famous Smith around here was in the same section- Fox News anchor Sheppard Smith. He's a former Ole Miss journalism student and loves to attend Ole Miss sports events when he can. We get such a kick out of him because he will mention Ole Miss sports or the campus during his broadcasts from time to time.<br><br>

My day got off to a terrible start though. I got a chain email from our high school class network stating that one of our friends lost his father last Friday. So all day my thoughts and prayers were with their family. I went to the funeral home directly after work and that delayed my run a bit. So sad. It was a heart attack and was totally unexpected.<br><br>
I was really rushed after work- funeral home, run and basketball game. Now it's after midnight and time to hit the sack. I sort of wanted to start the thread while the events of the day were fresh in my mind.<br><br>

The cat is limping. Seems fine otherwise (she just jumped up onto the table in front of me)...I think I'll give it a couple of days and see what happens.<br><br>
Penny was so filthy from her dogwalk yesterday (with her walker) I had to bathe her last night.<br><br>
There are soooo many costumes yet to be done. Or even started. Uh oh.<br><br>

I have the house to myself this week - BF is on a business trip until Friday. I love him dearly, but I <b>LOVE LOVE LOVE</b> having the house to myself. No one else's dishes, the bed gets made, there's no shaving cream in the sink, it's quiet quiet quiet. Not a video game to be heard.<br><br>
Those are mostly small things, but I do cherish my quiet time, so I'm enjoying this week. Plus, I've always been the business traveler - it's fun to be on the other side of the fence. He's having his own fun adventures on the road.<br><br>
[I just had to delete some more gushing about having the house to myself. Am I <i>too</i> enthusiastic?]<br><br>
Anyhow, off to work. It's been busy there, so I'll have to catch up on the thread sometime tomorrow again...<br><br>

I would kill for 7 hours of sleep. Under normal conditions, the max I get is 6, and I have only had about 3-4 the last three nights. Thankfully, my 4 YO's fever broke, but he was up from 1 AM on with a nasty cough. Hopefully, that subsides and we can all get a good night's sleep...

Maples - a good friend of mine worked at Kentucky with the basketball team, and I've only heard him say great things about Tubby. The other Smith, eh.<br><br>
Ah...lovely spring weather here. Yet another baseball game cancelled today. Which means that the team has 4 weeks to play their entire schedule. Lucky me.

I haven't been on the board much at all lately- work was cazy last week and then was in NYC for a 3 day weekend...good to get away and have a dose of culture.<br>
DH are buying a house- closing in May and can't wait to be out of our apartment and have all of our stuff out of storage..it will have been 8 months since I've seen it- like Christmas to get it back! The house has a great pool and jacuzzi so of course any 30's are welcome to visit! <img alt="smile.gif" src="http://files.kickrunners.com/smilies/smile.gif"><br>
I will have to catch up on the threads at some point...just wanted to pop in and say hi. Need to get ready for work.

Actually, what's not fun about it is that this is the very same tooth that I have had root canaled FOUR times and spent almost 3 grand on.<br><br>
