Morning special Tom. Reminds me last week I was in a pharmacy parking lot waiting for dw. Up drives a new mustang with a young couple to shop. They pull right in to the first handicap parking spot; she pulls out a handicap hanger for the mirror; and then they walk without handicap in to the store to shop. I hates that.

Gobi - nice car. I suspect it fits your personality very well.

Hiya Heme

7.25 miles this morning ez. Rained just before I started so was a bit on the muggy side.

I wish I was running in the Relay this weekend. I keep missing out on these things.

I also wish I was going to be in AZ. in October rather than November. I'd crew for Dove in a heartbeat.

I ran 5 fairly energetic miles this morning - each mile a little quicker than previous mile then a cool down easy mile to finish it off. 9:03 average pace.

I think it's time to give our bathrooms a face lift. 18 years in one place is a long time and the time has come. I'm afraid I may need to check the balance sheet for this deal. Time to start perusing the Big Box stores for ideas.

Bill

Nicely done, tomwhite.

Hiya ksrunr.

Bill, why not be a team captain for one of the Florida relays?

Speaking of tomwhite, when will they have a "Kill a Pharmacist" day? I have this AK skin condition top of my ear, so the dermatologist prescribes this trick cream I am to put on it very carefully. She warns me that the stuff will wreak havoc with my skin, causing all sorts of sores and discomfort and rotten looking side effects. So for 5 days I put the cream on and nothing much happens, then all of a sudden "Wham!" here comes all that stuff she was talking about all over my ear. I stopped taking the cream and now waiting for the rest of my ear to heal up. I wish I could get a part in "Reservoir Dogs" and just have some nut cut it off for me.

What's this have to do with the pharmacist? Why nothing, other than that he sold me the cream.

4.5 easy miles today then a flex workout. Back to my real job. Spareribs

tomwhite, if a lightning bolt blasted that water, wouldn't that be weather? Moreover, if Ribs was in that pool, would it fix that ear?

Hiya Byll, mill, and ksrunr. I'm in my element right now. :)

Dove, loved the pic of you and DS in the mudpit, LOVE the medals, LOVE that Opie and Lab are crewing for you.

SShorty for me this morning. wu, 10' @ HMP (way too fast, 7:07), wd

Have a good one!

ETA: I'm still having thrill chills from seeing that gray whale. I found this clip, narrated by my boyfriend Sir David. Powerful stuff.

I'm running today.

I did do a packing trip over the weekend, Fri about 6pm to Sunday 1pm.

Not as much mileage as I'd hoped, but no hip pain. Yippeee!

The HHH was bad even up high. I managed about 26 on Sat, for 40 total.

Saw a bear before I'd even unstrung my hammock Sat. morning. It was a yearling that I saw first, walking toward my camp. I clapped and said "GIT!" and it skeedaddled.

About 5 miles into Saturday morning I saw the strangest varmint I'd ever seen.

It was black with a patch of white fur on one end of it. I instantly though skunk, but it was slightly large for a skunk. Looked like it had its head to the ground. In a few seconds it raised its head up -from the other end. It was a baby buzzard. It still had a collar of white downy chick feathers around its neck and some on its legs.

I doubt it could fly much if at all. It hopped off into the woods.

A few miles later, I ran upon a patch of orange fringed orchids. I've forgotten the genera.

one of my favorites though.

I've always known TW was SPECIAL.

Hiya, KS

...actually he should have given you some tips too........if it's Carac or Effudex it is a CellKiller

and if it's Retin-A (tretinoin) it just eats off skin........

........goto every OTHER or even every 3rd day

and work back up to daily...

....since suppurating is what we want with Carac, you can cover up the ''ooze'' with

powder make up

......I personally found CoverGirl Peach works well for me

it was a dark and stormy morning. almost as dark as riley's disturbing facebook movie post. 80/80 kinda stuff. so of course i decided to do a practice duathlon around my morning bike commute.

run1: 7mi hilly 8:30 pace,

t1: 3:38 (had to grab lunch out of the fridge)

bike: 7mi 18mph. really tired legs, wasn't able to connect my two favorite traffic lights.

t2: 4:58 (had to drop bike in office and get running shoes from locker room, shoulda run)

run2: 3mi flat 8:10 pace.

need to drink and burp more during the bike segment. oh, and i need lots more fitness and a few more muscles. ugg.

eta - sounds like a great trip jjj... was the baby buzzard stinky? nice orchid pic too.

Well, I was going to post about my ho-hum 3.1 miles this morning, but how do I follow a baby buzzard sighting? No way am I that Special....

My living room is cleared of the 23-year-old couch. New furniture comes tomorrow. It's about time.

Enjoy the day, folks, whatever the weather.

6 with the Canadian in the cool of the morning......still got sweaty

It is called Imiquimod, and I am still not getting the required amount of well-deserved sympathy from certain Canadians and pharmacists here. My ear has completely oozed off into my wastebasket now so I probably can't hear you even if you have something kind to say to me. Spareribs

.....you may want to hold off buying new hats......

just a thought.

Is your sword sharp pirate? You can fix Rib's ear for him.

Problem solved, Ribs.

Today I did a recovery jog with some striders embedded within. A co-worker whom I have been coaching for the past several months is preparing for a 5k on Saturday. He told me his previous PR is somewhere in the low 30's. I'm anticipating he will run this one in around 26:00. We did 6 200's at his McMillen prescribed 5k race pace (about 8:00 mile pace) at the end of the run, and he handled them famously. Funny thing is, he has gotten much faster since I got him to ..... you guessed, it....since I got him to slow down on his daily training runs.

Brian

LOL KS, it is a little loud

Nice one Tom, keep those young people nervous

Did 6.5 miles at 6.21 pace this lunchtime, probably my fastest tempo run since 2008, the good news is this was a controlled effort until I unleashed hell with about 3/4s of a mile to go.

Also did 90 mins on the bike and 2.5 miles at 7mm before brekker.

Training volume and intensity needs to go up for 3 reasons

1. I got an email asking me if I want to compete at the Duathlon World Age Group Championships.

2. a week later I have an Elite entry to the London duathlon, this is draft legal no TT bike racing.

3 end of September I am doing a 3 day challenge 3km swim 120 mile bike and a marathon

The Dark Lord is happiest when he has targets

Have a great day

Starry night indeed Vincent van Spareribs!

After two weeks of hemming and hawing, I'm finally going to that local Masters group run. God help me...

OM - you'll nail that group run! Have fun!

Ribs: ewwwwww! as my DD would say.

Lab - you call that run yesterday carpy?! I wish I had that in me under IRC.

Nice run, Breeger! So are you upgrading to a two holer this year?

I bet where ever he goes, tw generates respectful stares and whispers.

Where's Susan today?

30' on the elliptical followed by 2 fun miles on the TM, just to test it out, then some core work. Now it's wait and see how I feel tomorrow.
