Good Morning!

5 miles overdressed in long sleeves and shorts! It's nice out here today! First run in a while I didn't feel like I was dragging my @$$. Must be the beautiful weather!

Anyone use Google Earth? I use it to get my mileage for runs. They've updated my neighborhood with new pics! The old ones were dreary and no green anywhere. Now the pics look so green with leaves on the trees and the grass all green! Very cheery!

Enjoy your day!

Pink, you brighten up any dreary landscape! Nice run for you - you deserve it. I agree, today is incredibly mild for late November. I followed your lead with shorts and a l/s tech shirt. 8 miles, a little faster than intended, 8:18 pace. Like you said, it must have been the weather.

Byll! I was thinking about you on the drive in today, wondering what's up wit you. As I recall, weren't you feeling the need to reduce your training and get recharged? (That could be a false memory on my part.) Dude, I miss your posts.

Good morning everyone! Yes, Pink's posts are very bright and cheery, a perfect start for a drab Tuesday... I was all set to take a walk to the library today, then got worn out just putting on my boots. Oy, this recovery is the pits!

If anyone would like to see, the pics MrOM took of me after my pseudo-marathon are here, including the certificate he made for me.

I just found out that the Wednesday before Thanksgiving is (unofficially) designated as "No Complaining Day". Whew, and I thought I had missed it!

Thanks for the thoughts and the shout out Mike. I did comment on your Wes Welker post at the end of Monday's daily if you haven't seen it.

I have been taking it really easy this month, but no so much consciously as I've had some travel and some singing obligations that limited my running time. But I've been lazy and getting fat too. I typically run less in November most every year, because it's right after my goal races usually. I only have 89 miles in November and there's only a week left in the month. Eeek. Maybe next month I'll put in a full month!

6 wonderfully pleasant miles this morning at 8:42 pace in perfect 64° running weather. Training partner jabbered on and on about how much she enjoyed the NYC marathon which she ran earlier this month. Being the quiet type I just listened. She seemed good with that.

I've been a bit scarce on KR as it seems to be dwindling - posting more on RA and FB lately.

Raise your hand if you got some snow today! (raising hand high and waving madly)

Oh boy! I love snow. I jogged/walked in my hiking boots (the streets are icy and somehow the boots just seem more stable) to work, with all my stuff in a backpack. Felt loaded down and tired and not loving the snow commute, so I walked about 1.5 miles of it.

Econo, I predicted last night that this winter storm warning that was all over our news, would likely fizzle out around Roseburg and not even hit us. We woke up to not even a snowflake! I'm at around 1500 ft, and GP is at 1000 ft. We had nothing at our house and when I drove into town, there was a dusting, but it didn't even cover all the grass in peoples lawns. My son is quite disappointed this morning after all the hype of all the snow we'd get over night. They are still calling for snow today, but it's mostly sunny out there now. Looks like that artic weather pattern didn't get as far south as they were saying.

As long as it stays dry out, I'll get in a lunch time run today.

OM, very cool that you got a certificate. I can't remember the last time I got one from a marathon.

Short easy run planned after work. I've downloaded one of the Podrunner mixes mcsolar mentioned about a month ago and excited about using it already but will have to wait until the right run. It's 170-180 bpm.

I really get annoyed by people who look fresh and/or great after a race or hard effort. You're on that list now, OM. Grrrrr.

It is so freaking gorgeous out there today, bright blue skies and sunshine glistening off the snow. It reminded me of those beautiful blue skies days in Alberta, when I'd get out with my friends and build forts or have snowball fights and just enjoy it as only kids can. Ahhhhhhh.

Managed to do the little 8x15" hill pickups, even though it was a bit slippy in spots.

OM is simply awesome! Cool family too for making you that certificate. I don't keep race mementos, but that certificate is a forever-term keeper for sure.

No snow here and I am sitting on my hands (and typing with my toes?...okay, maybe not that). I grew up in Golden Snowball award winning Syracuse, NY and my current hometown gets its share too---don't. want. snow. yet. I love snow on days like SS describes and then it can get endless. Sorry Econo, but I do love your snow-joy jumping out of the screen. cool. In the 60s here in this part of the Commonwealth today. groovy.

10.8 peppy miles this morning---no watch and somewhat lost in thought. I had planned on 8 or so and took a different turn while puzzling through some presentation remarks---oops, extra miles in there, but it's all good.

Bill, I am a big fan of the NYC marathon as wild as it is....may run it again in 2011 bringing my experiences there up to nine since 1987.

One of my Js running buddies ran the Philly marathon last Sunday with her husband. She has been building it back after breast cancer surgery and radiation this summer and this was his first marathon (as his gift to her and for his 50th birthday). They finished hand in hand in 3:50 and change. How cool is that?! She sent me a link to their finish photo and I am still sniffling and grinning. This is the J I call "Canada J"---former World and Canadian water skiing campion and one awesomely tough woman.

7 am spin class, with WAY too many women trying to hit the showers all at aonce after. Why is it that some people insist on taking long showers and then getting fully dressed in the shower stall, oblivous to the mostly nekkid co-workers waiting impatiently clutching their towels. Sheesh! Get over yourselves already!!!

Temps plunge tonight to -3°C. May be snow by morning! Maybe I'll even go run in it!

Super cold and icy here today and I couldn't get to work (bummer ). I'm taking an easy week and with the ice I doubt I'll run.

OM, I read that article you posted about post-marathon recovery. I think it's a good general guideline when you first start marathoning, but as you get more familiar with the distance, you will recover faster and you can let your body be your guide.

Have a good one.

Typical November weather here in Albany, though a little mild. About 50 and raining. Managed 4 miles at about 10:00 per mile with a co-worker - her easy pace - plus I added 2 strides of about 100 meters. I'm still sore from Sunday's hill workout, surprisingly.

I just ran a basic "day before the race" workout, but did it two days before, since tomorrow's weather is supposed to be colder and very windy, with still cooler temps but receding winds for the races on Thursday. Here's hoping, anyway. I don't really mind racing in anything but high winds. Rain, snow, sleet, bring it on. I feel like I have a slight advantage since in HS we played football in a lot of rainy, cold weather, and we always practiced no matter what, in order to get us used to inclement weather conditions. When I coached track and field back in the day, I usually kept the team outdoors if it rained during practice, because we had meets in the rain, and I wanted them to get used to it. That was not a popular decision.
