Morning...

FB - Nice running yesterday and today. You are cranking them out.

Kevin - Hope your 5 went well.

While I think the thyroid thing is much better, this cold's got a hold on me. Coughed most of the night.

FB, you're a rockstar!

realized when I got home last night that yesterday is a rest day but walked for an hour and a half anyway, wanted to keep the blood pumping and not encourage my legs to seize up.

Today is tempo Tuesday I'll get in a good 6 on the dreadmill (always run tempo on the dreadmill because if I don't, I'd cheat) when I get home. I'm four weeks out from RnR in San Antonio and really don't know how missing 3 weeks of training is gonna affect me.

Since I missed my long run on Sunday I did it this morning. Low 40s and clear, starry sky. Almost got attacked by a dog; almost ran into the same bozo 5 minutes later - walking his dog w/o a leash and no flashlight; almost got mugged by the Korean Mafia out running in the forest preserve w/o lights, almost ran only 15.9 miles but jogged to the end of the street. The result was 16 late for work miles @ ~8mpm pace. Odd that I felt faster in the first half and slower coming back but my pace was about the same.

BBS - hope the tempo goes as planned

Novia - New to the dailies? Welcome. I used to do all my speedwork on the TM... it helps you keep on pace if not run a tad faster. Missing 3 weeks is tough so you may need to dial back your m-pace around The Alamo(dome).

Dan - you need to quit trading ailments and get better. NOW!

kfuller - enjoy the 5'er

FB - nice early going.

Nice run FB.

Kevin hope you have a good one.

Good luck with the tempos Novia and BBS.

Hope you feel better soon Dan.

Sounds like a very eventful long run Asics!

I did another 10 miles this gloomy wet morning on a somewhat sloppy canal path. Still in shock over how fast the Boston Marathon filled up -- and glad I made it in this time...

Hi, everyone. Flyby as I'm on the road prepping for some proceedings. Nowhere to run around here, so I did 30 laps or so in the parking lot. 3.50 miles, give or take. Still feeling pretty beat up.

And I guess inkling I had to run Boston for fun is moot now. Sold out in 8 hours?

Got in 5 miles in 43:14(8:38). Startin out uphill in the dark early morning is not fun. After getting to some level ground my run got better. I either run uphill to start the run or end the run I guess from where I live. have a great morning everyone.

Morning all,

I've got a midday run planned today, hopefully I can fit it in. Otherwise it will have to be this evening. 7-8 or so, maybe a progression run. TBD.

It will be interesting to see what the BAA does (if anything) about qualification or the registration process after yesterday. The idea of toughening up the women's qualification standards has gotten a lot of ink but I think the bigger issue is the growth in the charity runners. Nothing wrong with those types of runners, of course. But having too many non-qualified entrants get in at the expense of qualified entrants not getting in (especially first time BQers) will damage the race's brand and status as a World Marathon Major event. There needs to be a balance. Just my $.02.

FB - nice job & good pacing

Dan - I agree with RA, that cold is gettin' old. Get well!

Novia - can't do much about the 3 weeks in the past, just worry about the present and have a good 6

BBS - have fun with the tempo

RA - your morning adventures are starting to rival loopy's

loopy - nice 10 on the canal path

Chances - 30 times around a parking lot? Ugh.

kevin - sounds like the opposite of my runs near home. Our house is at the top of a hill so I always finish on an uphill, from any direction.

RA- good and crazy run

loopy- I hope you dry out well

chances- 50 miler near Orlando in April? instead of running around a parking lot, lean your head against a wall and just run in place.

me- 10 miler with a two minute negative split between the first half and second half of my run.

Woo-hoo! Great progression run today!

Ran w/ my buddy at work and we both were feeling good. After a warmup mile in 8:02, we went 7:51, 7:35, 7:20, 7:00, and 6:44 before cooling it down back to the office. 6.89 miles all told, in 51:54.

I think I'm turning the corner...I hope New York is ready for me.

Late day fly-by for me. Rude start to the morning. I was lounging in bed when I realized that son2 had over slept. Since it was an honest mistake, I drove him. That messed up my morning routine, though. Oh well.

Finally got out for my run this afternoon. Tried to hold back and keep it easy. Ended up with a short 4 at 8:43pace. Sigh... MP again. Only a couple more short runs before the big day. Weather is looking perfect. Scary.

Hi everybody. I used my phone's gps today b/c I left my garmin at the office. It said I ran 8 miles. But that can't be right. I'm guessing it was much closer to 7.
