Morning peeps and Happy New Year! Good riddance to 2011.

I decided I needed to kick off the New Year differently this year...I felt almost superstitious about it, because the last few years have been so sh!tty. I was going to stay home, but got invited by my friend Joey to a party of his friends, out in the 'burbs. Joe doesn't drink so he was driving, and it was me, Joe, his roomie Jason (who's a good guy) and our friend Cat (one of my good friends.) Perfect. Didn't drink too much, danced most of the night, and made it home safe, and felt like I was breaking free of last year.

Then, NY day, I skipped the two brunches I usually go to, and went out to Worcester (about 40 mi away) to Monica and Adam's open house. (You guys might remember them, Adco and....I forget Monica's screen name.) Anyway, again, great to do something different, to hang out with some new people and to see their UNBELIEVABLE Victorian house. Holy crap, I kinda hate them for how amazing their house is! That night, I went to dinner with an old friend I don't get to see much...really good to reconnect.

So, in the spirit of this, I also ran on Sun and Monday. Just 1.5 mi, veeeeeeery slowly, but run I did. Walked another mile maybe too. Kate, my upstairs neighbor/friend/landlady came with me. She walked...I jogged beside her.

I am hoping to get out for a short run tonight too, even if it's just a mile. That's my running mantra for the year "even if it's just a mile."

I need 2012 to be different and I'm trying to make it happen. Small steps but something.

I am very grateful for you all, even if I don't say it much or even keep in touch as much as I should.
