Good Morning!

Decided to make it Tempo Tuesday. It felt hard and my breathing was loud - I wonder if I woke anyone running by their house this morning

.5m wu, 5 mile in 37:22, .5 cd.

I thought only I sounded like that Pink.

6 easy miles which were harder than they should have been due to the humidity. My 6x1Km tempo repeats tomorrow ought to be a real wet, sweat fest. Can't wait!

I was sleeping pretty well until some lady in pink ran by my house and woke me up with her loud breathing so I got up and ran 3 miles. (For Breeger: 65 deg, 48% humidity). I have a kayak lesson on the lake after work tonight. Pretty excited about that.

That's a great oldie, TW. DH and I have been watching some old Freddy Mercury/Queen concert footage lately and loving it. The teeth...the white hotpants... I miss Freddy...

I've enjoyed hearing about the relay fun.

Enjoy your day, everyone.

It's pretty hot & humid here too. I had PT this morning and now my hips are achey, achey, achey. Time for some vitamin i. I didn't have time to ice the hips after the session and I'm paying for that now!

Did anyone catch the NYT article about infections caused by gym apparatus? http://www.nytimes.com/2010/08/03/health/03brod.html?_r=1

Pretty sobering. Be sure to wash your hands, mats, and other equipment! DH snickers when I spend a lot of time wiping down the spin bikes but now I feel vindicated.

Enjoy your day everyone and run a few miles for me. I'm on tap to hit the treadmill tomorrow morning (would do outside but it's supposed to be extremely hot & humid).

We are starting to see Autumn temperatures. I needed a Gillet and boot covers on the bike this morning.

Run at lunchtime was nice at around 7mm for 6.5 miles and no drama

I also signed up for VRAA

No such coolness here... it's the Great Sweaty North...... 29°C (that's 84.2°F for the Celcius-challenged) and 70% humidity.

That's going to make the tempo run after work very interesting. Somehow I don't think I'll be as fast as Pink!

Run #1 is finally done. 3.1 miles in the park, started out nice and easy for the first mile (10:20 pace) and upped it by half a minute for the remainder. Since I always run by feel, it's interesting to notice what paces my body tends to settle at when I'm not trying for anything in particular (and when I'm not injured!).

Run #2 will be with the masters group this evening. As long as we don't do sprints, I should be fine. :)

Enjoy your day, folks.

No, 30% is considered very high in AZ. They're usually in the teens. And I would agree that high Humidity is the worst to run in. However ....

Running in 100+ dry heat in the AZ desert climate is like running in an Oven or a blast furnace. Open the door on a hot oven sometime, put your face down close, and imagine how that feels all day long. Tough stuff. And a Tough Dude that McSolar.

lol, i'm a marshmallow.

it's more like a clothes dryer. in june/october my jeans dry completely outside in 5 minutes in the sun, but they take more than 30 min in the dryer. it's like living inside a very good clothes dryer. (today's exceptionally dry... thus the chilly joke...)

but july - sept we get monsoons... we had some 80f/80% days last week... and that was definitely a different kind of breger-esque fun

Me too choovie....there I was in deep sleep and dreaming about relay runners wearing mittens or was that schmatta dresses and compression socks and then this steam engine sound! Oh hey Pink. Somehow I am thinking you ran by on light feet with nary a huff or puff! Nice tempo.

Also love your tagline on your posting choovie---that's one of our favorite Dr. Who episodes. Every day at 5 pm on BBC America---reruns of the season with Dr. 10 (swoon)

Ran 9.7 miles this morning at 8:00 am and at 7:58 pace----felt peppy and the goal was to hold pace at near 8:00. Left the house with my kid who was off on a 4 miler. As I turned onto my route he yells: "Have a good run Shorty McShort-Short---Mayor of Shortville". Time to pull out the "I am now potty trained" videos as evidence of a time when he was the resident Shorty!
