6 recovery miles on the plan. Made it 2 on the treadmill and my stupid blister from last week re-opened. I forgot to bring waterproof band-aids to work, so I had to call it done (regular band-aids don't stick to sweat). 14 tomorrow, I think I'll put on some duct tape over the darned thing, grrrr.

I'm scared...off to go for my longest run to date and it's not ideal conditions, but neither is the rest of this week and it has to be done. Camelback is full and ready to go and I sit here procrastinating.

Off I go...

The blister pads with a giant waterproof band-aid worked for my long run Sunday (I quickly changed it at mile 15 just to make sure it didn't slide around). I think I'm going to duct tape though - has anyone used it on a blister? I should add, the blister ripped open the day I got it, it's on the back of my heel and small, but deep. I'm thinking band-aid with duct tape over it will keep it from moving around?

I've had duct tape work for day long hikes. I've also had it slide off after short, sweaty runs. I might do as the pp said and switch it out partway through your run.

3.25 miles for me.

sports tape sure as heck doesn't work! My blisters are on the ball of my feet under like an inch of really hard skin...so when they pop it is like a giant cavern in my foot! Merigayle told me that when it heals I need to pumice stone it to get the thick skin gone.....

MOORE-MANNING-WEDGEWOOD LOOP, TO 38, BACK TO HOUSE, MOORE-MANNING-WEDGEWOOD LOOP.

Plan this afternoon for the 2nd of 2 runs today was a 4 mile recovery run. I did a one mile loop, then a one mile out, a one mile back, and then the one mile loop again.

Felt okay.

Only real issue I had was a loose dog. He meant no harm and just wanted to run with me, but I had to bring him back to his owner.

Run Segments
Worst run of my life. Period. I was so incredibly stupid to even think of attempting this run. First bonk ever and I feel like absolute garbage.

Alex, I had a really bad run a few weekends ago. It took having a really good run this weekend for me to feel better. Bonking stinks, but we need those bad runs to appreciate the good ones.
