I had a better run today than over the past few days. I walked 10 mins, ran 15 mins, walked 2 mins, ran 15 mins, and walked 10 mins. It felt better than the other runs I've done in recent past. Maybe I've overcome a small hurdle. Lots of stretching afterwards, and now I'm absolutely starving!
mcsolar, don't you have a HM to taper for?

I am going to try switching to noon time runs one or two days a week as my after work motivation has not been good. I am too easily distracted come quitting time. This new plan starts tomorrow

Yoga and pilates today.

Algebra 2 isn't required in high school?

Good job Susan!

Hey mclunar, here's a question for you. There was a huge, diffuse halo of light around the moon this morning. It was wide enough to span about a quarter of the visible sky. I figured it was some strange atmospheric effect. What was that? (Maybe you saw it too?) You have known the answer to every question I have ever asked you, so I'm certain you can enlighten me here. Thanks in advance.

Nice workout Susan. You deserved a good one.

I think I'll swim later today. It's been two weeks since I last got in the pool. I'll be glad when I'm done with that workout since I'm really not too fond of swimming.

Good morning!

Nice run Susan, you're doing great!

JJJ---might not have noticed, but I'm sure appreciated!!

Tomwhite---sounds like fun to me

Ksrunr--a massage, awesome! Nice to look forward to.

9.4 miles ( oops, didn't mean to go that far! ) in shorts again. Not complaining, but this is crazy! Did 10, 20 second strides midway through. Lots of wet leaves on the road made for a very cautious run.

Have a great day all!

Regular bike commute with my biggest thermos of coffee in my homemade handlebar bag. I'll check back later when I have a run to report.

<shiver ... recalling the nightmare that was high school math>

I object to the form of the question. It's posed in the negative and in such a way that is suggestive of the answer it seeks.

tomwhite, challenge lady jock to a plank-off. You are the <booming echoing voice> Plank King. </voice>
Well done, Susan. You too, gin.

Yet another date with the PT. Before that, I'll bundle up and head out into the snow for an hour-long ... crunch-crunch-crunch ... walk. Since we're out of bird seed, I'll take a bag of my cereal as the little guys are gonna be cold and hungry.

Hour pool run as well.

Now to execute.

Sally, sorry about your dog. I love retrievers.

MC-Our 7th grader is in pre-AP everything, including algebra; how's that?

FF-I never officially said hi. If I hadn't already overused the dancing PBJ banana, I would because I'm very happy too. The great thing about the short runs I'm doing now is they fit into the hectic schedule nicely.

Hi, gang! I've nothing to report yet, but wanted to say "woohoo, Susan". It's nice to feel like you've turned a corner, isn't it? Also, MS, I'm very sorry about your dog. I know of a lady in the local obedience scene whose dog had cancer, amputated leg, and the dog lived many years after that. Please keep smiling...

I'm doing an easy workout after I pick the kids up from school this afternoon. Some hip & core exercises (yes, including planks), then some walking and very slow jogging on the treadmill. I'll report back later.

Have a good day, all.

Ran last night around the park. My hip hurt like stink the whole time. I kept it at 11:00 mpm.

Algebra 2 should be taught in Junior high, High School is for Advanced Calculus.

as long as a kid can program a garmin, it'll take care of all the math he/she needs to know

good workout Susan.....remember, when turning those corners.....4 lefts will put you right back on track

thank goodness for "wet" counties

got an email reminder this morning that I had graciously volunteered to work the finish line at a local 5k on Saturday.....turns out that the "doofus" RD scheduled his race at the same time the VOLS will be playing in the SEC Championship game. I thought it was a morning race, but...noooo. I"m NOT a happy camper. Maybe I could just show up early, program the timers and clocks, hand the timers to some kids, and then go home and watch the game. Surely they can't mess it up. Oh wait, they probably didn't have algebra 2.

6 easy miles on tap this evening......I'm looking forward to it.

ks....did I miss any mention of a race for you yesterday? The intrepid thread, which never lies, says that I did.

high school math and science standards certainly seem less stringent these days (I think that officially makes me sound old when I harken back to those good old days when life was tougher!), but DH and I are the same page with our son that once he enters highschool (he's only in 2nd grade now) that even if the school doesn't require advanced math and science, WE will require that those subjects are taken.

I wonder how Johnny's yoga class went last night? Maybe he's still in his zen-state. Or maybe he's just stuck and can't move.

I'll get in a run during lunch today. Hoping to squeeze in 4 miles.

Tammy, hopefully the Three Rivers School District offers advanced math in high school. They didn't when I attended; I ran out of math classes to take after my sophomore year.

I'm sure Johnny is still in his zen-state...
