I have been enjoying the new Tropicana Fruit Squeeze drinks in the lemon flavor for a few days now. I drink mostly water, but they've been a nice addition and have very few calories, and sucralose as a sweetener. I usually like to lighten my lemonade or fruit juice with water, so these fit perfectly.

Today I bought their tangerine flavor, and didn't like it. I decided to look at the ingredients list for some reason: it has cochineal coloring in it. Because I'm familiar with colchicine (a med for people with gout) I immediately knew the root of that word. Cochineal coloring is made from insects. Gah! uke: They put insects in my drink. Talk about bug juice! And most people won't even know they're drinking insects, b/c of the fancy name they gave the coloring. Vegetarians beware!

OK, it's disturbing, but doesn't seem as creepy as the stuff that must be in the artificial coloring additives!

Let me tell you that you definitely don't want to think about the bugs, or more likely, pieces of insects that are in cereal. When I worked in a food testing lab several years ago, the gentleman who did the "filth" testing would show me what he found...most of the stuff he found was in cereal. This guy was great at identifying specificial what insect a particular part came from. Needless to say, I no longer eat cereal.

This woman writes that there were a lot of ingredients on the label that she never heard of and looked it up and was shocked and disgusted.
