I'm new to this. Do you all wear a tri swim-suit and then change? Or do you wear the one-piece tri-suit? I've looked around at some of the web-sites and it seems there are a lot of choices and combinations. Do the one-piece tri-suits with the shelf bra provide enough support? Not that I need a lot but I sure don't want to be bouncing everywhere. And then there are the ones without a shelf bra. Do you wear a particular bra with them?
Sorry for all the questions. I realize everyone has a personal preference. I just need pointed in the right direction.

Ok. I wear a regular bathing suit when I am training. In a race, I wear a wicking bra, tri top and tri shorts for the whole race.

Some people wear a bathing suit then throw bike shorts on. I don't like running in bike shorts and I don't want to waste time pulling on bike shorts. Everyone has a different preference.

I train in a swim suit. The chlorine does a number on them! During the summer I swim in open water in a swim suit.

I've done only one sprint tri. I did do several swims to test out possible race day outfits. I wore tri shorts (cycling shorts with minimal padding), sports bra, and short sleeve running shirt.

Since then I have gotten a couple tri tops with a shelf bra. Mind you, I have very little on top. I buy my bras in the jr's dept... I wear tri tops as a base layer in the winter and have no jiggle issues.

thanks for the feedback!

?

anybody swam in a waterpolo suit? I am rather large chested--and would like something to covers my girls---but wondering since there is no shelf bra in it, if it would be enough support to swim in (during the actually tri races, I would be wearing a different outfit--with support). The suit I am swimming in now if just really stretched out---

I've seen plenty of this in tri's...looks like it would slow me down and hurt my back/eyes.
