Traveling this week and trying to find time to post, much less train is always difficult. Especially when a bike or pool are not available. So this week will call for some easy runs with plenty of recovery time between. I will be home by the weekend but my wife and I are doing a getaway for the weekend so not training for Sat or Sun either.

Monday I made an easy 5 mile run at just under a 8 min pace. I am amazed at how much lower my heart rate is here in AZ than it is in AL. I guess the humidity levels has a lot to do with it.

Today, I have nothing planned however I may choose to do tomorrow's workout tonight versus in the morning. It might depend on how hot it gets on whether I do it today or in the morning.

I am just going to play this week one day at a time with no real plan.

I don't know what it is with running here in Tuscon. These runs are killing me even though I haven't changed anything. I haven't increased mileage or intensity. The only thing I can figure is I am not riding or swimming. My legs just don't feel so great. Although once I get going things seem to settle down eventtually.

5 mile run this morning with 10x30 second repeats with 60 second recovery. My intervals were pretty slow during the first few repeats and then they came around with the pace began to pick up for the last few repeats.

Happy training everyone.

I am back from Arizona and getting ready to head out for the weekend to spend with my lovely wife. I am really looking forward to the weekend. I rented a cottage at Callaway Gardens.

Yesterday morning before I left I was able to go for a 9 mile run. It was a great run. I ran based on heart rate and was able to keep it in the 65% range for the entire run and ended up averaging 8 minute miles. I do have to say that 50 degrees in arizona is a lot colder than 50 degrees in alabama. I guess it has a lot to do with the humidity level. There it was in the 30's/40's and here it is normally much higher.

Have a great weekend everyone. I will post again on Monday.
