First of all, I'd like to thank everyone for their patience over the last few days as we transitioned to our new home and platform. A special thank you to all of the moderators who jumped in and answered questions, found bugs, and were just supportive of the entire process.

I'd also like to thank the entire Huddler Development Team. They were all very responsive to our requests and have worked tirelessly over the last 45 days in preparation of the new site. It's great to have a full time staff to help with this site! Special Thanks to Cristina (cristina7). She's been on the site non-stop since the transition - reading your comments, suggestions (and bitchin! ) and has taken all of it to the development team for consideration on new releases.

All in all, we really had very few glitches. And those that we did incur, the teams been great on resolving them. The biggest glitch was the Iphone issue and that is now resolved.

We've made some subtle changes to the template where it's not quite as 'washed- out'. We might adjust it a bit more. It does require a great deal of time and effort to make the changes so we want to do them only when we know it's going to make a significant impact and not go back and forth where we never really resolve it to everyones liking.

Smilies: The "Smilie Manager" is looking into upgrading the smilie selection. I'd expect this to occur over the next couple of releases, but not sure if I can say 'when' - though, based on the input here - I'm guessing it will get done sooner than later. In the interim, please feel free to 'link in' smilies from different sources on the web

Product Reviews: This is an important part of kickrunners.com as it brings us to a higher level of service for an Online Running Resource. The product reviews - written by members of this site - will be integral in development of solid value-added content to the site. This will bring other runners to our site and community. I'd encourage you to get involved with the product reviews and begin offering your thoughts and opinions on products. If successful, these product reviews can lead to 'free product' from suppliers for our members to 'use', 'review', and 'keep'! The Product Review feature is a 'win/win' - and that's really why it's important.

Forum Sizing: The developers are discussing and may be able to change the width while still maximizing the overall site layout for future growth. I'd ask you give us time and know that your input has been documented and, where it can be, will be used in determining future releases

Stickies: The site doesn't support stickies any longer (Just in case you guys don't remember, I recall a time when there were complaints about the stickies ) - they can be a detriment to the forum. That being said, Check out the "30's club" use of the forum Note as their stickie. They used the wiki to create a 30's info spot and then linked to it from their note. The Extreme Runners (Great job - merigayle) also embraced the note concept and have used it to their benefit. I'd encourage the other forums to use the forum note to maximize their own experience as well.

User Subscriptions : aka, the 'Stalker Effect". The original concept of this is based on the "twitter tweet". I can see why one would see it as a potential 'stalker'. In essence all it does is to notify you of a post by another user. If there is a stalker, they can do that by simply 'searching' your user name - or, for that matter just watch the forum where you spend the bulk of your time. If, on the other hand, I want to read posts or thoughts by my favorite poster, I can 'subscribe' to them and know when they have added new content. On the surface, there might not be a lot of value to many, but as we grow and we bring in experts of various topics, this may come in handy - much like you follow a blog of someone. BUT - the developers can see the point of it may be 'weird' so they are working on a way to allow you to 'disallow' subscribers. When that will occur - I can't say. But this is being considered.

Templates and Skins: The amount of coding required to update individual templates is pretty intense. Even with Vbulletin (our old forum) - every time I did an upgrade, it took hours per template to update. Huddler is working on the option to have multiple templates as well as a mobile template. My guess is as kickrunners grows to the next level, then there will be ample releases that may facilitate additional templates. Until then, we all have the same template - but, in time - there will be other options.

Invisible mode: Everyone can use this now. When you are invisible, you appear as a 'guest' on the "who's on-line" splash.

Private Messages: What can I say - they are unlimited. You could spend all your time doing PM's and never have to even post if you choose not to. This is a significant improvement over vbulletin - PM space took a lot of database resources and effected performance. Now, it's not a concern - so PM away!!!!

If you still have suggestions, concerns, or complaints, I'd ask you post them in this forum so we can track them.

Thanks again and I hope you enjoy our new home!

Thanks, Rich. Overall, it is an improvement. Anything else will likely either be resolved or ignored.

Regarding the "stalker" feature, perhaps members can be notified when someone elects to "subscribe" to them? Maybe with an option to deny a request to do so?

If you still need your running log from the old site, please notify me right away - we have a short window of opportunity to recover any you may need before that server is turned off.

Thus far - we've extracted two running logs for members.
