Now that I have the right sneakers for running (thanks Kruss), my shins do not hurt at all. I see the reason for good sneakers now. I am going to pick up the pace on training for my first 5K, currently on week 5 of the CPto5K. Not sure if I will beyond that as I am hooked on running, but to the same degree on kickboxing.. definitely both give me an rush.

Hopefully I will be ready for a 5k in February of next year, so wish me luck.

This is my first post in the 30s club although I have been on Kickrunners for some time now. I am 37, but because of running and the kickboxing I feel like I am in my 20s again... gotta love it.

Happy Friday to all.

Thanks Theia and lgreenberg. I am in Northern NJ in Passaic County. The town is Pompton Lakes. Not too from NYC, but a nice feel for the country. I grew up close to Albany, so I definitely have a love for the country, but I also like the closeness to NYC.

Where in NJ are you from Theia?

Good luck with the 5K training. Do you know what race you will be running?

FYI - I lived in Glen Rock for about 10 years, my college roommate is in Bloomingdale, and one of my wife's bridesmaids is in Lincoln Park. I know your neighborhood well.

Thanks Jill, I trying to get over the week 5 hump right now and with my work schedule training is quite hectic, most of the time I train at lunchtime and kickbox twice a week at night. I need to rev it up some more.
