Hi Kicksters,

I am hoping for a bit of help.

I have the CycleOps Mag. I am really starting to get into some resistance training on the trainer. But...I keep dropping my chain. What the heck am I doing wrong? This is really the first time I am working with all my gears. However, the fact that I continue to drop my chain is not instilling a lot of confidence to try this on the road.

Any help would be greatly appreciated

Probably just need to adjust the limit screw on the front derallieur. One screw stops the chain from falling off to the outside and the other controls the inside. Basically limits how far the mechanism can move in each direction.

Just a quick follow up to say thank you! The article on cross chaining was very helpful. After it kept happening, and I was sure I wasn't cross chaining, I took my girl up to the local bike shop. Turns out Bannon was right. The limit screws were way off.

Thanks again for your help!

You also want to make sure you are not trying to do a chainring shift with a lot of pressure on the pedals, so you need to plan ahead and ease of for half a stroke when you shift until you feel the chain drop into place
