<p>Jimbo is a little sore - but oh so proud of my toughest 100 mile finish to date, Ancient Oaks 100 in Florida. The course and the conditons just beat the snot out of me. The first thing was how long the night was! It never even entered my tiny little brain how that would affect me. But 14 hrs of darkness, jsu dragged like you wouldn't believe. It rained. And rained and rained. And rained some more. If I was guessing, there were around 12 hours of rain - thankfully not too too cold, but it was pretty miserable. Then there was the sand, deep sand is close to impossible to run in, and of course it got into my shoes and eventually caused me some blisters.....</p>

<p>Now that I have whined enough - I have to tell you, for a fat ass event, it is absolutely fabulous. Mike Melton and his volunteers put on an awesome race, and even though the only promise water, there was everything from McMuffins, to soups, to gourmet cup cakes. I discovered slabs of spam make a great ultra snack!</p>

<p>I hurt, a lot - but I will look back on this as an achievement, and the toughest physical challenge of my life. Ancient Oaks 100, in the books, 29:43.</p>
