Morning, everyone. I took the cat to the vet this morning to get this claws trimmed. When he was a baby, I was bad about doing this, and now he hates it so much, I can't do it myself. So, I pay the vet to do it, but Darcy still hates it. He seems to have forgiven me, though.

I think I mentioned that I signed up for a research study. The goal is to test the effect of statins on reducing cholesterol and other indicators associated with metabolic disease. Participants are sorted into statin-only groups, exercise-only groups, and statin + exercise groups. I signed up for the study and was told that they were at the end of recruiting so I would definitely get into one of the exercise groups. Any how, I had a blood test last week to determine eligibility and unfortunately, I am eligible (high triglycerides and high cholesterol). Fortunately, I get to participate in 12 weeks of supervised exercise! Tonight I'm going for a stress test/VO2 max test to ensure that my heart is healthy enough to participate. I've never done one of these, so I'm kind of excited about it. I'll let you know how it works out.

I'm also going to the doctor this morning to follow up on some medication I'm on. We'll see what she says about my crazy stress dreams. I had another dream last night were a bunch of people (from my high school, I think) were on a trip and something happened to the bus and we had to stay in some town. There was a group of mean girls and they were annoying me about a ton of things. Then we found out that the local hotel only had four rooms and we had to form lines like we were waiting to get on a roller coaster (the lines where you pick your seat) to determine who stayed in what rooms. I got in a line but a bunch of people didn't, meaning they wouldn't have a room. Drama, drama, drama, and I woke up.

The QOD is an interesting one. Like Amy, I'm worried about staying awake because I have to read a bunch of stuff about power transition theory, which is interesting, but it's no Harry Potter. I guess I'll try to limit my internet checking as a procrastination strategy. On that note, off I go!
