Good morgan. I'm on the train on my way into the city. Its gonna be a good day.

Tim, sorry bout the walkway.

Qod: recently, i've found it important to have mini goals for myself. Today, I will compliment 3 strangers. Whats your mini goal for the day?

#2 ·

morning all.

I'm still deciding on the job if I do get the offer which "should" come sometime today. I have a pro/con list but neither are very long. I just can't decide if I should say screw it and take it, if just for a while.

Other than that I made the best freaking lemon muffins last night

QOD I don't know what my mini goal is for the day. Probably just make it thru the day.

Wippy - can you take it without burning any bridges at your current job? If so (and there is an option of coming back if it doesn't work out), I say go for it. You will be closer to Craig, right? Where is the new job? Whatever happens - good luck.

Missy - have fun! I like your mini-goal, I'll try to think of one as well. For now, I am running late. Wish me luck - I am presenting a webinar today on false patent marking litigation. Should be fun!

ooh - almost forgot - NOT FUN: DS really hurt his ankle playing football over the weekend. They think it might be fractured, but can't tell yet. So he is in an air cast. If it worsens during the week, we need to go back in to the DR and likely get a "real" cast.

#4 ·

Wippy - good luck! Hopefully the offer will be written in a way that makes the decision clear.

RIL - Hope your son is doing ok. Ouch!

QOD: staying awake at my desk all day. Feels like it will be a challenge today! I also need to clean out my computer bag today. I'll be on campus all day tomorrow and it's too heavy.

Morning, everyone. I took the cat to the vet this morning to get this claws trimmed. When he was a baby, I was bad about doing this, and now he hates it so much, I can't do it myself. So, I pay the vet to do it, but Darcy still hates it. He seems to have forgiven me, though.

I think I mentioned that I signed up for a research study. The goal is to test the effect of statins on reducing cholesterol and other indicators associated with metabolic disease. Participants are sorted into statin-only groups, exercise-only groups, and statin + exercise groups. I signed up for the study and was told that they were at the end of recruiting so I would definitely get into one of the exercise groups. Any how, I had a blood test last week to determine eligibility and unfortunately, I am eligible (high triglycerides and high cholesterol). Fortunately, I get to participate in 12 weeks of supervised exercise! Tonight I'm going for a stress test/VO2 max test to ensure that my heart is healthy enough to participate. I've never done one of these, so I'm kind of excited about it. I'll let you know how it works out.

I'm also going to the doctor this morning to follow up on some medication I'm on. We'll see what she says about my crazy stress dreams. I had another dream last night were a bunch of people (from my high school, I think) were on a trip and something happened to the bus and we had to stay in some town. There was a group of mean girls and they were annoying me about a ton of things. Then we found out that the local hotel only had four rooms and we had to form lines like we were waiting to get on a roller coaster (the lines where you pick your seat) to determine who stayed in what rooms. I got in a line but a bunch of people didn't, meaning they wouldn't have a room. Drama, drama, drama, and I woke up.

The QOD is an interesting one. Like Amy, I'm worried about staying awake because I have to read a bunch of stuff about power transition theory, which is interesting, but it's no Harry Potter. I guess I'll try to limit my internet checking as a procrastination strategy. On that note, off I go!

Ok, it's only been a half hour and I'm already experiencing epic fail on the QOD. Still, check out Google's front page today.

Mornin' (that's me getting beat up by meetings)

Good luck on the webinar, Mindi!

And good luck to Wippy in the decision making process

QOD - I'm involved in a high stress project at the moment and we have several co-workers that are seriously lacking in their commitment and providing deliverables when scheduled. It's easy to trash talk them but I'll try, for today at least, to not participate

Cool stuff, Prae. Good luck on knocking those numbers down!

I need a vacation. Totally burnt out at work and tired of the gloomy weather. I don't even have any interest in college hoops right now during the best time of the year. Oh, and I need to get started on our newly complicated taxes! Ugh.

QOD: To avoid salty snacks. To see Federer and Nadal this afternoon, maybe meet them prior to their exhibition here tonight. To get back to the AT&T guy that's trying to work a $3MM deal with us to blanket our venues with public wifi.

#11 ·

Prae - that is cool - have fun! Although I find VO2Max tests to be very painful! When I did it, the trainer kept increasing elevation and speed until I.simply.could.not.run.any.longer. It is pretty cool knowing what your VO2Max is so you can plug it into the fancy calculators and see what you are capable of doing.

Hola Peeps!

Fun: Early packet pickup for the Tour De Cure ride is tonight at the LBS whose club I ride with.

Not Fun: Being $85 short of my fundraising goal. Hopefully Ill get a few more donations between now and the ride on Saturday morning

QOD Making sure I get my 30 minutes of exercise in today.

Hi all- first of all- let me say a big THANK YOU to Prae for the thoughtful gift I received in the mail yesterday. I am amazed every day by the generosity of some of you and helping me through this difficult time. I'm continuing to heal and trying to enjoy each day before I return to work next month.

When your baby nearly dies, somehow things just seem less important, and you realize to appreciate those friends who care.

I'm sitting here with tears in my eyes thinking how some of you (Shannon, Prae, Missy etc- to name a few) have been better friends to me than some of my "real life" ones. I appreciate all of you.

kj Just another example of why this group rocks! While I wasnt going through nearly what you were, there were times in my absence from here that several folks would txt or email me and check on me. Gotta love this great group of people.

Frankie - great cause, I'm in too!

My webinar was a bit short today. Oh well. Better than running late. Hopefully I'll get positive feedback.

Fun: Report card day. DS#2 rocked the house. I am so proud of that little dude. Still waiting on DS#1.....

Well, I failed on the QOD. This one particular co-worker and her lack of any sort of work ethic is making me INSANE!!! She's lazy and bossy and spends the majority of her time playing Words with Friends in lieu of doing actual work. I can't stop muttering mean things under my breath about her. ARGH!!!

Maria - I am willing to give you a pass on this one. I don't think it counts unless someone else hears you.

So I just emailed DS's school counselor to remove him from Band. The public humiliation style of classroom management is just not my thing, and I don't have the energy to try and convince him to stick it out. I just don't want to deal with it. Does that make me a bad parent?
