On the treadmill at 7:15 to simulate warmup time for race on saturday. A bit early but I was doing an easy run so it wasn't bad.

7.3 miles 60:00 Shortest run this month but 64th day in a row of running at least one hour.

Not too pleased with the weather forecast sat as it's supposed to be upper 30s and rain. I may run in sweats!!

Morning all - It's a Feriado here today - The National Day for the memory of Truth & Justice, which they seem to have turned into two days, and a four day weekend, as tomorrow is also a holiday. Not complaining at all, but they do have an awful lot of days off here.

Well, as I missed my planned run last night, as I was called into work just as I was getting changed for a run, I was out at 9.30 this morning and ran a plesant 3 Km (2 miles), on roads a lot quieter than normally, thankfully. The temperatures have dropped in the last couple of days to a very pleasant 20 degrees or thereabouts (68), excellent for running, with a cloudless sky. The run was uneventful, felt easy, and I can start to think about increasing the distance a little tomorrow.

Checked out some new shoes at my favourite LRS last night. Came home with a pair of men's Saucony Progrid Stabil CS.....on sale!...yay. Should give me the room I need, so will test drive them on the TM after work tonight.

Morning all......sweats in the rain,........ sounds like it should be in the chorus of an ode to winter running ballad........

and speaking of rain.....7+ miles in the rainy woods, started at 7:15 (AM Tamster), about as early as I can get away with sans headlamp......

and speaking of Tamster.....I'm wondering if you'd like to meet up some weekend day for a LR on the bikepath in Medford.....the dogpark in Ashland is mile 8 and the fairgrounds is mile 26....with 2 vehicles we could run it one way.

"Sweats in the rain", eh? Ick. Reminds me of the girl I raced with last spring. She wore long flared yoga pants on a wet, muddy trail course that included river crossings (without bridge). For a couple of miles all I heard was a very wet FLAP, FLAP, FLAP!

Thanks for the link to the pics Fred.

KR masters - you need to scroll thru those 50 pics in the above link. They are pics of the heart and soul of American and world distance running. All those guys were my heroes. I knew the winner of the '75 Steeple chase who ran for Wichita State University (ks). He was about 4 years ahead of me and got to see him run many times.

I don't have any idea what that means om. I'm not technical enough I guess. I clicked on the link and it opened for me. Fred?

Hiya Johnny - not much sun here today, but no rain either. It's about 52 but feels colder.

My run went fine last night, although I didn't do the planned speedwork because of some leg complaints I'm letting settle down.

I'll be seeing my sports massage therapist tomorrow for the first time in months. She's great and it will be really good for me.

The emotional turmoil continues...

KS, it means you can't get in unless you have a Facebook account of your own.

I don't have one, so I couldn't access it either. You apparently have an account of your own.

KS, Fred must be your FB friend, which is why you can see his pics. I'm not, so I can't. So it's a link that's not accessible to the general public.

Hmm, for some reason I can't format for paragraph breaks or even see my cursor as I type here. Very strange....

Oh, but when I edit the post, I can. Very weird indeed...

Another non facebook user here (if it weren't for us, there probably wouldn't be a Kick masters forum anymore).....I'd love to see the pix too....Mrs. Johnny has an account. I'll see if I can use hers.

Hey KS, are you from Wichita??..or go to school there??.....I plan on being there for a few days either late summer or early fall.

ETA: Hmmm, I see now, thanks to OM, that unless on the outside chance Mrs. Johnny is FB friends with Fred, I won't be able to see the pix either. Well ya never know.

Johnny - Yes I am from Wichita and spent first 40 years of my life there. It will always be home.

I have a FB account but am not "friends" with Fred. So I guess the key is a FB account in general?

My we're chatty today. 15 replies! woo-hoo, Kick is coming back, even if most of the comments are about FB.

Anyway, I just stopped by to report my gym w/o today, focuing on core and lower body. The cold meds are doing their trick and I'm feeling much better today, despite the frequent cough.

Wet sweats, yuck. May as well run with a diver's weight belt on. Don't get ks started.
