....December 18th Delta State will play Minnesota Duluth for the 2010 Div II National Championship. That after rounds and quarters and semi finals. All wrapped up about the time Div I starts playing their bowl games.
 
Anyone watched a Div II game? Anyone ever see Delta State play? Well I have and there's no big difference in the quality of the game. Everything is relative. The big difference is they play in front of 25,000 (if that) instead of 85,000 and more. The score boards are not high tech. The cheerleaders don't look like playmates. Few out there will be signing NFL contracts (it does happen however). What a shame big $$$$$$ has to fuxk up Div I football. Imagine a playoff system featuring the top 8 ranked teams in the nation? We could use the bowls in that system. Just takes a little creativity.

Wis-Whitewater win Div III
Sioux Falls win the NAIA
 
Each team winning four playoff games to be crowned the Champion. Now that's a Champion.

I find the biggest difference in watching Div 2 games is that the TV cameras are at a lot lower angle because the stands don't go up most of the way up to the clouds. They also often have 3 or 4 cameras instead of 50.
 
The stadium for tomorrow's game in north Alabama seats under 15,000 which won't have anyone confusing it with Bryant-Denny or Jordan-Hare.
 
Of course they could be playing in Duluth MN.

That is something else that seperates things, not unlike watching a high school game. I think we all prefer the 50 cameras and that far off shot. I will be watching the Div II Championship game (if it's on TV) instead off some 6-6 vs 6-6 Div I bowl game.

Yeah, there are not a lot of blimps overhead at Div 2 games.

I have a magazine I get each pre season....Sporting News College Football 2010 (or whatever year it is) when it gets to their talk about Div III football there's a picture of Levell Coppage. In 2009 he rushed for over 2000 yards...whoa!!!!!!! NFL??? I did a little homework on what other Div III back made it in the NFL. Surprised that I couldn't come up with one.
 
Instead of watching Div I bowl games that meant.....zero. I did check out those Div II, Div III, NAIA Championship games. There's just something about a title being on the line.

I got a kick out of those announcers doing the Delta State vs Minn-Duluth game. It was pretty obvious most of those playing for Minn-Duluth were white guys while about 80% of those on that Delta State team were black. They kept..."it's obvious Delta State is faster"..or..."Delta State seems to be more athletic"....hahahaha!!!!!!! Then again what could they have said?
