What a long day yesterday.

No run this morning. Will run 6 miles or a bit less ez tonight. Looking at a couple fall marathons for next year. Have found two really fast courses that aren't overwhelmed with participants. One in NY and one in PA. Don't have either of those states yet.

Hang in there Frens.

Hi KS, Tamster, and Heme

Legs still a little heavy but I'll be heading to do an eliptical workout in a little bit.

Perfect weather forecast for the Jacksonville marathon on sunday but I couldn't convince myself to drive down and run it.(14 hours each way) I'm looking for something this winter between Florida and Texas to run when I take a vacation.

I have Pennsylvania since Pittsburgh was my first marathon, but I have 45 states to go if I convince myself to run another.

Hi KS, TW, & Rip....and any who follow.

Consider the left coast Rip

Evidently the ankle roll wasn't as bad as first expected. Went to gym, 2 mile TM warm up, 2 @ 8:20, 1 CD...(kept the custom orthotics in the whole time HF)...there was a spin class going on about 15 feet away w/ loud music. Some of it got me a little pumped up....maybe it's time to get an ipod......unfortunately, most of the Dead & their various offshoots music is not conducive to a fast turnover, I can't stand ozzie, and I don't get 9 inch nails (sorry rip & Heme )...Well, I've got a lifetime of experience, I guess I can eventually figure it out

That's a long way to drive!! I was thinking about Arizona this winter since I haven't been out there in a while. I would love to go out for spring training but that's a little late and I usually

have a lot of work to do by that time.

Rip. they make these new gadgets ( maybe you've seen them?) called airplanes. :)

Ryan Hall says that top three in Olympic USA trials will have to run sub 2:10 just to make team. Many of my local friends are going to watch in January. It's on a closed loop course

Bring your checkbook......Went to spring training 2 years back, 1st time in about 20+ years, $85 to sit behind home plate at the new Dodger / White Sox stadium......still fairly reasonable to sit way down the foul lines though.

Greetings, all.

I wanted to do six today but got a late start as a routine car inspection turned into a brake job -- and delaying my run until 1:30 p.m., at which point my tummy was growling. I managed five before conking out and walking the rest.

A month ago, this would have been a good run, but hey, the standards are higher now.

You're getting there Baba.

Johnny, last couple Indians games I went to, I just bought the cheapest ticket and sat anywhere I liked in the bottom row. I was in Tampa

last winter just as the Yankees were getting ready to play their first spring training game and tickets were quite high. I had no interest in going anyway.

Planes are faster but then you don't get to see all the sights on the way to the destination and besides that, where would I sleep?

Hammer time on the eliptical tonight. Made it to 51:39 (11 eliptical miles). Had to wring out all my clothes. Shoes in front of the fan now.

Day off tomorrow and I may attempt 2.5 hours on the treadmill saturday while watching the Ohio State basketball game at noon.

Looking good Baba!

Glad the ankle isn't as bad as you thought, Johnny. On the music, I use mostly tunes that support a fast turnover, or at least have a complex enough rhythm so as not to force me into too slow a cadence. For instance, Eminem's "Lose Yourself" is the perfect hill climbing song for me.

KS, I'd suggest Toronto's Scotia Bank marathon, Oct 14....flat and fast. but it's pretty crowded. Or Hamilton (primarily downhill) in early November... see this month's RW for a write-up on that one.

Hi TW! Hi Rip!

Hi HF!

Last night I started to feel like I'm coming down with something... lovely, just in time for 2 week's holidays. Despite unusually high temps of 12°C, it was pouring rain for the noon running group, so none of us bothered. The sun came out in late afternoon, so I did manage to get out for an easy 3.5 miles. Think I'll need to go to bed pretty early... the cold is gaining on me!

Hi there - Its just about still Thursday here in Argentina, and YES, I'm running.....

Had to take a couple of days off, due to a combination of tired legs, and commitments, but today it was a great session at the gym..

Started with a 2Km warm up, at an easy pace, then did a 5x400m session with one minute intervals.. Started at 12 Kph pace, followed by ratching it up at 12.2, 12.6, 12.8 and finally 13 Kph for the final rep. Finished with a 1Km cool down, and the best thing about it was, the final rep was easier than the first. I know these are not startling, but I am pleased with them. I'll have to see how the legs feel in the morning, but no immeadiate problems.
