A bit of a debate on our club boards around skirts ranging from women who love them, men who love chasing them, and others who think they have no business in sports.

So what do you think? Vote in the poll and discourse on your reasons.

WAIT FOR IT!!!!!

I'm a proud skirt wearing triathlete. I always race in them. Fun, functional, and different.

I don't love my skirt, it's okay. I do wear it though. Skirtsports is one of our team sponsors this year so we all get a skirt with our team logo on it. I guess I will have to wear it more now.

I have one....I think they're cute, but alas...I have not found one with shorts underneath that are long enough for me....

One of my tris last season or season before, a woman in a skirt passed me on the run and for some reason it drove me crazy. I'm thinking, "I'm not gonna get beaten by someone in a skirt, darnit." So eventually I picked it up and passed her, cute skirt and all!

Hmmm. I'm somewhere between A. and B. - I like the idea of skirts, but don't have experience with them, so I'm not sure. But, in my quest for faster transitions, I would say I probably wouldn't race in one, just because I like to wear the same thing the whole race. But, I have been interested in getting one for running.

I love skirts. Wore a cycling skirt in my first du and got complimented by two women near the finish line (spectators). Wear running skirts all. the. time.

I have a Skirtsports skirt for running and another for cycling. I also have a skirt from Target, but the shorts underneath are much looser, so they don't stay down unless it is SUPER hot. It was cheaper, though, AND it is black. I got my running partner a skirt for Christmas, and she likes hers. I'm hoping it will be warm enough to wear them at our HM on Sunday (it should be). The only problem is my skirt (the good one) is not black, so I really only have one shirt that matches it, and it is sleeveless. I think I'll go with long sleeves on Sunday, but we'll see. I think I'll have to get a black one or another color that matches more of my stuff. I'll have to wait for a sale (they have great sales in the fall). I don't wear a skirt in tris because I wear the same thing the whole time. I've thought about getting the transition skirt, but I don't know if I'd like having to put it on.

I have three skirts. I love them! I don't wear one all the time. Mine are pretty heavy, so I'll only wear them when it's not too hot. I wore my hot pink one for Tucson Marathon. I was meeting another KR, and told him to look for the hot pink skort, and even with all those people, he found me!

Not sure how to vote either - I think they can be really cute, but I'm not much of a skirt person so it would seem odd to me to be running in one.

Transition Girl to the rescue, race number snaps & all.

I just pull it on over my trishorts. Takes about as much time as a race belt and much sassier.

Don't have one...not sure I would wear one if I had one.

If I could get away w/hot pants like KC I would! Until then, I'll stick to my awesome collection of Hind low rise running shorts

That's cute. I may have to try it. But, I don't wear a race belt - I pin my number to my tri shorts, and tuck it in. Then, pull it out of my shorts on the run. So, it's still an extra step to pull on the skirt. But, hey, looking that sexy may be worth a few extra seconds

Do you pin it on in transition after the swim? That seems like it would take forever. I wear a race belt -- clip it on and go. I may try TransitionGirl, though.

I have lots of skirts and I love them. Ran my first marathon in my skirt and got lots of compliments. When I first saw them I turned my nose up at them and thought only some wussy chick would wear a skirt. But I am a changed woman after wearing one once. I get mine from Skirtsports.com and Runningskirts.com. Here on the Texas Gulf Coast, I will take anything that will make me cooler in the summer.

I also have a running dress - I kid you not - from skirtsports. I wore it a week ago (last time I ran - I am injured) with my swim suit under it. Right after the run, I stripped the dress off and jumped in the pool. it was AWESOME and it looked pretty damn hot.

I do too but I don't run in it. I wear it around town w/ flip flops in the summer.

I tried the www.runningskirts.com athletic skirts and they are PERFECT. The shorts underneath are longer than any others I've tried. I like them a lot better than the skirt sports ones. I have lost enough weight recently that my skirts are too big and falling off, tho. But I had my mom put elastic in the waistband of one of them and it works like a champ!!

I love my skirts. I think my legs look much hotter in them. Who knows if that is true, but they make me feel good, so I don't really care.

In fact, I am going to order a red one soon. In the smaller size, BOOYA!

I've thought about this one... I race in tri shorts and a sports bra with a bike jersey thrown on top. They have a place to fasten your race number on the transition skirt, so you just snap the skirt on and go.

I saw lots of people with them at the tri for the cure this last summer, since Skirt Sports was a sponsor. I was trying to get the low down on them while I passed people on the bike. But I didn't want to slow down for their answers!
