Hi KS!

The boss is in town and she joined us for a spin class before work early this morning. I really, really like reporting to someone who "gets" it. Will run next early tomorrow before it gets too hot.

Temps on Thursday will be up to 46°C (116F) with the humidex. I think it'll be time to set up the air mattress in the basement.

Hi ks, Heme!

I don't know how you guys manage it in the South, ks. I'd be on a TM in front of a fan.

It was nice to see Gobi and OM drop by yesterday!

Rip - you're an ANIMAL! Nice w/o after the roofing warm-up. I'd be toast.

No roofing here either. I'll leave all that to Rip. And the paint stripping award goes to Happy Feat. We need to redo our entry stairs, too. We have birch trees that drip sap all over everything, turning it all black. It's really gross. I love those trees but they're just making a mess out of the roof and stairs.

You guys are running so well in the heat. I'd melt, I'm sure. Just did elliptical yesterday. I was tired after the weekend of running and racing. Eeked out a 5 second PR in our 8k race in cool, spitty rain conditions on Saturday (36:35), then ran 5.1 more after for 10 for the day. Then ran a too-fast 17.4 mile long run on Sunday that just wore me out. So, yesterday was sort of a rest day. I'll get out on the trails at lunch. Have a 16.5 mile race on Sunday that will be half muddy trails and half on the roads with a LOT of hills. I really don't feel ready for it, but oh well.

Got my race report posted! I put it up over at RA, and there's a thread with a link to it here. Won't hurt you guys (Mike, Johnny, Rip....) to sneak over there to take a peek.

it's a great report and well worth the read! Erika - do you have your own fan club and can I be the president? You are just amazing my friend!

6 miles in the afternoon rain for me yesterday. normally, I could never run in the afternoon in July here, as we should easily be in the 90's and 100's by now, but as Johnny said, we've been having about 3-4 days of rain and 60s to low 70s. But when looking at the rest of the nation, I guess I'll take this. and summer rain feels nice compared to winter rain. I don't mind running in this at all. But I think today is the last day and then we'll make our way back to sun and 80's. I hope so because Friday is company rafting day on the Rogue River. and rafting is so much fun in the sun. and the beer tastes better afterwards too.

still working on the puppy training here. Bella is turning into a little frisbee dog and is learning "stay". Bailey is just sweet little Bailey but still only wants to "come" when she's ready to, but we are making progress. Although I'm sure in Thursday's puppy class, they'll act like they haven't learned a thing.

Nice running and spinning, KS, Heme, Mike, Erika, and Tamster. I'll head over to RA to log my miles in a minute; I look forward to reading Erika's RR. I got in 4 slow miles on the TM today--even that was a sweaty job.

It was a sauna the whole day here so I was kind of tired by the time I hit the eliptical. I went medium/hard effort for 45 minutes

and stopped for a little recovery befrore doing another 5 minutes at an easier level. Just too worn out to go any farther but I feel great

after sitting in the air conditioned car on the drive home. Like everybody else, it is supposed to be even hotter the next couple days.

I'll still take it over the cold any day though.
