Morning etc.....

Today was my last trip to give blood and run tests and I will be glad not to do the 120 mile round trip going forward. I will however be glad to get on with the training I have been missing.

2 Easy days for me and I am pretty relaxed. 100km in less than 2 weeks so beyond dropping soem weight I cannot do much useful.

Take care

Morning Gobi and those to follow. I can't imagine you have much weight to lose.

Happyfeat - I assume that is you in your avatar. What a great smile you have. It made me smile see your smile yesterday. Where was the race from the pic?

Postponed morning run to this evening. It was just black out early this morning and for the first time in a long time didn't feel safe in the traffic. Must be getting old :)

Not much else to report.

Good Morning Gang,

I went our after sun-up. Beautiul day here - low 30's, sunny, no wind. Ran 8 miles with 5 x 0.5 mi intervals in the 7:30-7:12 range, 2:00 rests. 8:15 overall pace.

Remember to feed the fire, Gobi.

Hi Heme. Morton's is painfil! I had a bout shortly after I bought a new pair of dress shoes. They were too narrow so I ditched them. Ever since I've had to use a gel pad under the forefoot to keep it raised above the toes. (I place it under the shoe insert.) I haven't had that pain in 2 years now. I hope you get relief soon.

Going back to yesterday's thread to fins a certain someone's avatar...

Hi Ks and Gobi

Another early start though I did hit the snooze for 20 minutes this morning. I got a little ambitious on the speedwork last month so

I am staying at 2 hard days per week and today was one of them.

2.46 warmup in 20 minutes followed by 12 X 90 seconds (5k pace) with 90 seconds recovery at moderate pace.

avg 6:15 on the fast parts and 7:47 on the recovery all at 2% incline. (Hope that's worth 20-25 seconds/mile)

Finished at a nice pace to get 8.5 miles in 61:45.

Hi Heme and HappyFeat. I used to always be one of the last posters during the day so a little different posting every morning.

Hi Mike, Nice workout. My last interval workout was 1/2 miles so I did 1/4 miles today. I don't like to do the same workout too close together because

I try too hard to run faster.

Hello... lunch time ...but ruined my appetite already with snickers and homemade St Paddy's Day sugar cookies someone brought in. I already feel 10 lbs fatter! Now I will have to run tonight even though I've got a leg ache.

Thank you for the compliment, KS That was taken in September after the Black Diamond HM here in a rural part of Washington. It is the most beautiful course I've ever run.

It had been 5 years since my last HM and I was just about over my bout of ischial bursitis that I got in the spring training for a June HM. I was cautious with my pace, and I ended up feeling I could do more. My avg pace was 10:20, although I would have been happy with 11 at the time! The thing with this bursitis is that I would relapse every time I tried to run faster. I continue to increase cautiously. My goal is to run this race again this September at 10 mpm.

Hi all & old KS too....a most appropriate name for the daily Gobi, as I'm quite tired too.

Had to go to town this morning, so I went to the gym, ran 7 miles on the TM, took until mile 5 not to want to just quit.

Good news on the old boy at your race over the weekend Heme.

I agree, that is a nice picture of you in your avatar HappyFeat...I don't know ischial (doesn't he play for the Mariners :D), but I've had bursitis a few times in the past.

Root canal tomorrow, so I guess I'll call it a rest day.

Good running to all

I'm tired so I think I qualify to post here today.

6.0 miles today including a just under 2.75 mile tempo run in 20:00. Didn't quite rach my goal of 2.8 miles in 20:00, but I'll shoot for that next time.

Have a great evening, Masters.

Awww, KS, that's sweet!

Hi Gobi, Rip, Johnny, Mike, BTY, and HappyFeat.

Nice speedwork, guys!

Johnny... sometimes you're the windshield... today you're the bug!

Wasn't sure what the foot was going to let me do today, so selected a route after work where I could bail and cut back to the office easily. Turned out I didn't need to worry. With an extra metatarsal pad on the right foot and keeping off the hills, I managed to stick to the plan after all...... 6.2 miles.......with very little soreness. I think I may need to invest in another pair of road shoes the next size up, as with the extra inserts they're feeling on the edge of too small.

Have a good one, everybody!

Heme, that's great you've got a solution for your foot pain and had a good run today - hurray for that!

I agree with KS about your avatar photo - positively exuberant - I love it!

Way to tough it out on the TM, Johnny. Good luck with your root canal.

I've never had one, but agree you should not run as that would probably make it more unhappy.

Good efforts today BTY, Rip, and Mike.

Let's hope we all have more energy tomorrow.
